Brent Deakins was elected superintendent of the Intermountain District on 8 May 2025. He currently serves as the assistant superintendent of the Intermountain District.

Deakins will replace Scott Shaw, who has served as superintendent since 2015. Deakins will assume his new role 6 June 2025.

“We are excited to serve the great people and churches of the Intermountain District,” Deakins said. “I was born and raised on the Intermountain District, have served in a variety of roles here and have many deep and meaningful connections here. It is a huge honor and a humbling blessing to be able to come alongside of our churches and pastors to support the amazing work they are doing.”

Prior to the Intermountain District office staff in 2021, Deakins served at Eagle Church of the Nazarene. Deakins also previously served with Extreme Nazarene Mission.

Deakins holds a bachelor's degree in English from Northwest Nazarene University and a Master of Arts in education administration from the University of Idaho.

He and his wife, Nichole, reside in Eagle, Idaho.
