Paraguay Communications Congress

Multiple Churches of the Nazarene in Paraguay participated in a national communications congress from 12-14 May designed to activate the creative capacity of the churches.

"We want to make known inside and outside Paraguay what God is doing in this part of the world," said Pablo Tello, Holistic Ministries coordinator for Paraguay. "To do that, we must continue training, preparing, and recruiting people in the districts to tell what is happening through the various digital platforms we can use today."

During the congress, Alexander Romero, regional communications coordinator from Venezuela; Brian Utter, World Mission Broadcast coordinator Marcelo Fretes from Ecuador, along with seven students from the Olivet Nazarene University, presented on various topics.

The training instructed about 40 youth and adults from the three districts of Paraguay on the importance of communications in digital times. They covered topics of photography, social media, drama and improvisation, audio and radio, graphic design, podcasting, and videography.

"The congress was truly a blessing,” said a participant named Vanessa. “I understood how important the church is and how it can be integrated into social networks."

The congress was inspired by Exodus 35:31: "And he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, intelligence, and creative capacity."

"When I arrived at the congress, I came with high expectations and mainly longing for the Lord to confirm the call that had been pending for three years," said Sol, one of the participants. "It was in this training that I understood that the greatest designer is Jesus and that He is the greatest communicator in the whole world. God moved uniquely and supernaturally."

Paraguay is preparing to assemble a national communications team to continue sharing the things God is doing throughout the country.
