Maximum Mission event reaches Guatemala community
A group of 26 young adults from the Guatemala Central District visited the community of San Antonio Nejapa May 1 through 3 for a Maximum Mission event called “Living the Great Commission.”
Several activities were held, and in each of them God’s blessing was felt by both the community and the volunteers. The group stayed in the village’s elementary school classrooms, where they painted the school basketball court and the community basketball court. They also presented the “Goal Project” in which 70 youth and children participated. Guitar and drums lessons were also given to 15 teenagers.
Eighty children attended the Bible school and visited 35 houses to share the gospel message with the EvangeCube. Despite rain, they presented the JESUS film to 50 people at night, with some viewers accepting Jesus as their Savior. The team also provided Bibles and New Testaments to those that accepted Christ.
In addition, there was a medical clinic in which free assistance, anti-parasite medicines, vitamins, and medications (according to the medical diagnosis) were provided to 127 people. Two Nazarenes dentists treated 30 people.
Children received toys and stuffed animals during all activities and on the last day, they were given clothing.
“We thank God for allowing this activity in which we share the love of Christ with the people in the community and for all the people who collaborated for the purchase of everything we used," Nelson Morales said. "May honor and glory be given to the Lord!”
