Trinidad and Tobago suffers damage after floods

by | 26 Oct 2018

Many churches and homes were damaged last week by severe flooding after heavy rains caused rivers to overflow in Trinidad and Tobago. Some buildings were left with major structural damage, including the Church of the Nazarene in Piarco.

Local fire departments have rescued several people who were trapped in their homes, flights have been canceled due to lack of visibility, and many people have lost all their belongings, including several Nazarene pastors and their church members.

Nazarene Compassionate Ministries and local Nazarene churches are collecting and distributing food and supplies throughout the country. In many cases, the floods made it difficult for them to provide care and resources to civilians.

NCM is in the process of sending more pastors and church members to the affected areas to provide additional help where needed. They have also contacted government agencies and other relief groups to offer up their services wherever possible.
