Wesley Dwayne Tracy, 92, of Peoria, Arizona, passed away 11 March 2025. Tracy served as pastor, educator, and editor of multiple publications, including Herald of Holiness and Preacher’s Magazine, within the denomination in the U.S. and across 12 countries. 

He was born 14 November 1932, to Doyle and Berniece Tracy in Howard, Kansas. In 1951, he married Bettye Boyd. Wes lost Bettye just weeks before their 65th anniversary in 2015. In 2017, he married Donna Colene Adams.

As a minister, Tracy served at Kansas City Stony Point Church of the Nazarene (1959-1961), Renovation Church of the Nazarene in Indiana (1961-1968), and Oil City Church of the Nazarene in Pennsylvania (1968-1970). 

As an educator, he taught at Nazarene Theological Seminary from 1978 to 1990, specializing in Christian education and preaching. 

He served as the editor of Preacher’s Magazine from 1980 to 1989 and Herald of Holiness (now Holiness Today) from 1989 to 1997. He was the author, co-author, or editor-compiler of 28 books. 

Tracy earned his bachelor’s at Bethany Nazarene College (now Southern Nazarene University), a Master of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary, a Master of Arts from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, and a Doctor of Ministry and Doctor of Sacred Theology from San Francisco Theological Seminary.

Wes was preceded in death by his first wife, Bettye Tracy. He is survived by his second wife, Donna Colene Tracy; daughters Linda Harmon and Michele Wisdom; two granddaughters, and five great-grandsons.

A Celebration of Life was held at the Sun City Church of the Nazarene on Wednesday, 19 March 2025.
