Geraldo Nunes appointed North Andean Field FSC, elected rector of STNS
Geraldo Nunes was appointed field strategy coordinator for the North Andean Field and elected rector of Nazarene Theological Seminary of South America. Both positions will be made effective 1 February.
David Gonzáles, the previous field strategy coordinator, will lead Nunes through the orientation process with help from other global, regional, and field personnel.
“We thank the Lord for the privilege to serve on this capacity,” Nunes said. “We are thankful to the global Church of the Nazarene for entrusting us with such an important task as the North Andean FSC. My prayer is that our heavenly Father will grant me wisdom, discernment, and a great disposition to carry out this ministry.
Nunes has been pastor in the Church of the Nazarene for 38 years. He holds an honorary doctorate from MidAmerica Nazarene University, a master's in administration of church resources from the Evangelical University of the Americas, a License in Theology from STNS in Ecuador, and a Bachelor in Theology from Nazarene Theological Seminary in Brazil. He was also the founding president of the Brazil Nazarene College.
“I thank you for your prayers, cooperation, and support in this new phase for the North Andean Field and also for the transition for Dr. Geraldo Nunes and his wife, Waner,” said Christian Sarmiento, South America regional director.
