Greetings and Message

Dear Nazarene Disciples and Disciple-Makers,

Greetings to you in the powerful name of the great Disciple-Maker, Jesus Christ, who has called you and me to join him on his mission to make disciples in all nations!

There is no adventure like it in our world today. Through prayer and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, we can watch where God is working our communities and join him there.

In Luke chapter 19, Jesus was passing through the city of Jericho. On his way, he encountered a chief tax collector named Zacchaeus, a despised man in the Jewish community. Jesus had obviously been looking for Zacchaeus because when Jesus reached the spot where Zacchaeus was, he said, "Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today" (Luke 19:5). Jesus listened to the Father and knew who in the crowd was open to repentance. Jesus was seeking the lost. Jesus desired a relationship.

This year Nazarenes across the USA/Canada Region, as agents of God's prevenient grace, are being challenged to "bless our communities." How do we do this? We bless them by sharing the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ by living out the five core principles of Nazarene Discipleship International (NDI). Encounter God through fervent prayer. Engage each neighbor through compassionate outreach. Encourage friends in comprehensive biblical learning. Equip others through intentional mentoring and authentic relationships. united with all Nazarenes in this Journey of Grace, we will be a blessing to the communities God has placed us.

To help equip the church to live out this journey of grace, we would like to invite you to NDI's leadership conference, LC2024. The conference will be held from November 5-7, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. the theme for the conference this year is "Journey to the Core." there will be inspiring plenary sessions, helpful training through workshops, and supportive fellowship with other discipleship enthusiasts. Plan to come, and bring others from your district and local church.

See you in Tulsa!

God bless,

Dr. Scott R. Rainey
