The Discipleship Place Releases More New Bible Studies
By Nazarene Discipleship International, | 15 Nov 2024
Content: The Discipleship Place library of Bible studies continues to grow monthly. You can now access Bible studies for the following books of the Bible:
- General Epistles: The seven letters following Hebrews in our New Testament are called the General Epistles. These include: James, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, and Jude. Early in the church, these letters were considered universal, generally addressing the Church, especially when differentiated from Paul’s letters.
- Hebrews: The The Epistle to the Hebrews stands tall and majestic among the books of the Bible, unique in its presentation of the culmination of divine revelation in Christ. This is especially true as it points to the finality of Christianity in the work and person of Christ.
- Pastoral Epistles: General Superintendent Paul! We recognize, of course, that Paul was not officially known by this title. That title is the best term we can use to describe his activities—quite similar to the duties of ministry leaders of our day who bear the same title officially.
- Psalms: The Book of Psalms is the hymnbook of the Bible. The English word “psalms” comes from a Greek term, Psalmoi, and means “songs” or “sacred songs.” The original Hebrew title of the book, Tehillim, means “praises” or “songs of praise.”
- Wisdom Books (Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon): In the wisdom writings, the emphasis is upon the practical and ethical aspects of faith. Wisdom is applying the basic beliefs of revealed religion to the tasks of everyday living.
Thanks to the work of Dr. Daryll Stanton and Natasha Skyba for their work on editing and revising!
