David Warren

David Warren, 68, of New Castle, Indiana, passed away 18 June 2023. He has been the pastor of Richmond Church of the Nazarene in Richmond, Indiana, since 2019.

He was born on 16 January 1955 in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, to the late Louis and Sally (Olson) Warren.

David graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas, and Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri, where he earned his Master of Divinity. 

He took his first pastorate in West Helena, Arkansas. For 42 years, he pastored churches in Freeport, Texas, and Evansville, Mitchell, Spencer, Petersburg, and Richmond, Indiana. David served as secretary of the Southwest Indiana District for 12 years. 

He loved to mentor younger pastors and influenced many over the years. David was an avid ping pong player, reader, and book collector.

David is survived by his wife, Becky Warren; daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Warren; a son, Phillip Warren; a granddaughter, Rowan Warren; sisters Barbara Campbell of Needville, Texas and Lynda McGraw of Foley, Alabama; and a niece and nephew. 

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, 24 June 2023 at Richmond First Church of the Nazarene with Tim Crump and Indianapolis District Superintendent Brian Wangler officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, 23 June and one hour prior to service at the church on Saturday.
