Remembering Rose Handloser
Retired missionary Rose Handloser passed away 11 October 2019. She was 87 years old.
Rose was born in Greenwood, Delaware to her parents, William and Bessie. After graduating from Eastern Nazarene College in 1954, she accepted the call to be a missionary and began serving in South Africa in 1962.
During her time in South Africa, she served as the curriculum writer and editor in Africa for 15 years. She was the editor of the Trans African, authored a junior reading book titled Boetie Gets Rich. She retired after 30 years of service in South Africa in 1992.
When she returned to the United States, she became a member of Milford, Deleware, Church of the Nazarene, where she served on her district advisory board.
She is survived by her nephews, two nieces, and their families. She was preceded in death by her sister, Violet Williamson, and her brother William Handloser.
A viewing will be at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. for Rose on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at the Milford Church of the Nazarene in Milford, Delaware.
