Newly Elected NDI District Presidents Receive Special Orientation at GMC

From September 26-28, NDI held a special orientation training for the newly elected NDI district presidents at the Global Ministry Center. The orientation included presentations by the NDI global staff, NDI educational field coordinators, and regional ministry partners with special presentations by USA/Canada Regional Director Stan Reeder, Research Services Director Rich Houseal, and Nazarene Benefits USA Director of Operations Roger Creeden.

 

New Disability Ministry Coordinator Hired

After much prayer and many interviews with many excellent candidates, Nazarene Discipleship International welcomes Rev. Ryan Nelson as our new disability ministry coordinator! This new five-year position, fully funded by a generous gift from the Lilly Endowment, will bless local Nazarene churches with resources and training for this greatly needed ministry to families and their children who struggle with disabilities.

Women’s Discipleship Ministries Gather at General Assembly

General Assembly 2023 was a wonderful way for Nazarene women to connect. The USA/Canada women's discipleship representatives enjoyed all the ways we gathered and greeted one another through our booth, worship gatherings, workshops, or spontaneous meetings in the halls as we celebrated our bond of love in God. We began the assembly with a constant flow of visitors to our booth, Nazarene Women of Grace on the Journey Together.

Nebraska NDI district president passes away unexpectedly

Barry Kennard, 54, of Hastings, Nebraska, passed away 11 August 2023. Kennard served as co-lead pastor of Lakeside Community Church in Hastings, alongside his wife, Krystal Kennard. He also served as the NDI president for the Nebraska District.

 

The Kennard family were visiting relatives in Vancouver, Washington, when Barry had a sudden medical emergency and passed away.
