MidAmerica Nazarene University announced Thursday that James H. Diehl will serve as acting president of the university, effective July 1. Diehl will preside for six to 12 months during a presidential search.

Diehl accepted the position after Ed Robinson announced his resignation as president of MNU this month. (story)

In addition to having previously served on the MNU Board of Trustees and the boards of several other institutions of higher education, Diehl served MNU as assistant to the president from 1973 to 1976. He was chairman of the Board of Regents at Northwest Nazarene University.

A former pastor of churches in Iowa, Georgia, and Colorado, Diehl is a prolific writer, and served the International Church of the Nazarene as a general superintendent from 1993 to 2009.

Jim and his wife, Dorothy, currently reside in Denver, Colorado.

An executive search committee, formed from a cross-section of MNU Board of Trustees members and campus constituents, is developing the process for the search for the next university president.
