Juan Soto was appointed field strategy coordinator for the North Andean Field (Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela).

The appointment was made by Global Missions Director Verne Ward in consultation with Jurisdictional General Superintendent T. Scott Daniels following the recommendation of South America Regional Director Alessandro Polonio.

Soto’s appointment began 1 December. He will replace Geraldo Nunes, who has served as FSC of the North Andean Field since February 2019.

"I thank God for the privilege he has given me to serve in the North Andean Field,” Soto said. “Now, together with the superintendents, we have the challenge of taking to another level the seeds that my predecessors have sown.”

Soto was ordained as a minister of the Church of the Nazarene in 2007. He holds a bachelor's degree in Theology (2006), a ministerial degree in Theology (2016), and is currently completing a Master's Degree in Theology at the South American Nazarene Theological Seminary.

He currently serves as superintendent of the North Central District of Colombia and as holistic ministries coordinator for Colombia. He, along with his wife, Carolina Mahecha, pastor the Por su Gracia Church of the Nazarene in Bogotá, Colombia. They have three children. The Soto family will soon be moving to Quito, Ecuador.
