NDI challenges convention to live into core principles
The final day of the Nazarene Discipleship International (NDI) General Convention was again blessed with the presence of Jesus. Prayers continued, interceding for God’s will to be done throughout the conventions and General Assembly.
A youthful and energetic band led worship during the third NDI plenary session. Stan Reeder, USA/Canada regional director brought greetings, noting that the region’s 500,000 Nazarenes have spent time in intercessory prayer for the General Assembly and Conventions.
To conclude the NDI convention, those in attendance accepted the daily challenges of NDI’s five core principles: authentic relationships, compassionate outreach, comprehensive biblical learning, fervent prayer, and intentional mentoring and equipping.
Each principle has a unique daily challenge, and individuals are encouraged to post on social media using the hashtag #NDIChallenge23 when a challenge has been completed.
Dorothy Whipp and her team of volunteers were thanked for their work in helping children learn about and memorize Holy Scriptures during World Quiz 2023, and a brief highlight video was shared. In addition, many thanks were expressed to Trey Brooks and his team for planning and working with the hundreds at GA Kids.
Eurasia Regional Director Jim Ritchie gave his God-given vision to spread the gospel to the myriads of individuals on the Eurasia Region, which is home to 25 percent of the Nazarene population.
Global NDI Director Scott Rainey then gave an inspirational message, “Walking with Grace,” about overcoming failures, using Peter as a major example of a biblical figure with so many failures.
