In Memoriam Mountains

The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who recently went home to be with the Lord. Notices were received 3-7 March 2025.

Joe Ballard, 86, of East Peoria, Illinois, passed away 26 February 2025. He was a retired minister who served in Illinois and Wyoming. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Ballard.

Roger Bowman, 93, of Wildomar, California, passed away 4 March 2025. He was a minister who served at Murrieta Gateway Church of the Nazarene, serving previously in California and Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Bowman, who passed away in 2023.

Anna Bell Cribbs, 96, of Paragould, Arkansas, passed away 1 March 2025. She was the widow of Ulysses Cribbs, a retired minister who served in Texas, Missouri, Illinois, and Arkansas. Ulysses passed away in 2017.

Fred Cunningham, 84, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away 1 March 2025. He was a retired minister who served in Ohio and Michigan. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Cunningham.

Norwood Kreuzinger, 90, of New Castle, Indiana, passed away 4 March 2025. He was a retired minister who served in Indiana. He was preceded in death by his wife, Constance Kreuzinger, who passed away in 2022.

Melvin McCullough, , of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away 4 March 2025. He was a retired district superintendent, who led the Washington Pacific District from 1983-1985. He was also the founding director of the Nazarene Foundation. He served as a minister who served in Texas, Kansas, Washington, Colorado, Illinois, and Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife Jeannie McCullough.

Patricia Nees, 86, of Columbia, Maryland, passed away 14 February 2025. She was the widow of Thomas Nees. Tom led the USA/Canada Region as director from 2003-2008, was the first director of Nazarene Compassionate Ministries in the USA and Canada from 1990-1995, and served as director of multicultural ministries in the USA/Canada Region from 1995-2003. He served as a minister in Kansas, Washington, California, Washington D.C., and Ohio. Tom passed away in 2021.
Luke Wise, 41, of Plainville, Kansas, passed away 27 February 2025. He was a minister who served in Kansas. He is survived by his wife, Amanda Wise.
Axa Whetstone, 76, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away 27 February 2025. She was the wife of Barry Whetstone, a retired minister and evangelist who served in Oklahoma, California, New York, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., and Ohio.
