Gerre Hall remembered
Retired missionary Geraldine “Gerre” Hall passed away 7 May. She was 93 years old.
Gerre married her husband, B. Maurice Hall, in 1948. They served together at two churches in Los Angeles, California, before they were appointed to their first missionary position in 1955. For the next 20 years, Gerre and Maurice served as missionaries across Africa, pioneering work in Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Zambia.
They returned to California in 1976, where Maurice pastored the Santa Ana First Church of the Nazarene. Maurice later became the Southern California district superintendent, and Gerre served as district Nazarene Missions International president before they retired in 1998.
“Her gentle-caring spirit, gracious encouragement, and warm hospitality touched our lives,” said Thomas Taylor, Southern California district superintendent.
Gerre was preceded in death by Maurice in 2009. She is survived by her two children, Timothy and Tamara.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. 2 June at the San Diego First Church of the Nazarene.
Prayer is requested for the Hall family.
