Japan: Board of General Superintendents urges Nazarenes to pray

Japan: Board of General Superintendents urges Nazarenes to pray

by | 18 Mar 2011

The Board of General Superintendents joins with other Christian leaders around the world in again calling our constituencies to prayer. We urge Nazarenes to intercede for the Japanese people. We further urge Christians to lift up workers involved in compassionate ministry and service to those affected by this tragedy. While we believe that offering a cup of cold water in Jesus' name is an expression of His love, we continue to pray that the gospel will be communicated clearly and that many will come to faith in Christ.

Congregations, as well as individuals and families, may wish to set aside specific time for prayer and fasting on behalf of this great need. We affirm our continuing faith in the mercy, goodness, and kindness of the One who said He would never leave us nor forsake us. In this hour of challenge and difficulty, we stand in faith and corporate prayer with all those who call upon the name of our Lord.  For "the LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love" (Psalm 145:8, ESV).

Bandera peru
Caption
