Seven of the students received a Bachelor in Theology, and one student received her License in Theology — Ana Mardones — making her the first woman in Chile to earn the degree. Mardones is also the first Chilean woman to be ordained as an elder in the Church of the Nazarene.
Peru Nazarene Theological Seminary
Peru Nazarene Theological Seminary and its New Horizon satellite campus held their 2018 graduation ceremonies.
Los Angeles District Superintendent Greg Garman reminded the graduates at each ceremony that the call to ministry includes pastoring, evangelizing, and serving. To illustrate his message, Garman used a staff to represent the work of a pastor, a net to illustrate our call to be fishers of men, and a towel and basin to symbolize the call to Christian service.
Graduation attendees included Peru NTS Rector Evelio Vasquez, Regional Education Coordinator Jorge Julca, New Horizon Satellite Campus Director Edgardo Roman, and the district superintendents of the areas served by the satellite campus.
A group of youth from the Santa Rosa Church of the Nazarene in Chiclayo also attended the satellite campus graduation with their pastor and local leaders to serve children in the local communities.
There were 59 graduates from the main seminary campus and eight graduates from the satellite campus.
