Churches and districts across Argentina have been learning about missions through local Nazarene Missions International events that have taken place at the start of 2022.

In the month of February in the Central Patagonia District, the La Fe Church of the Nazarene in Esquel participated in the denomination’s Global Week of Prayer. 

“This year the local NMI team was formed, and this initiative was a great blessing,” said Veronica Marenco, lead pastor of La Fe. “It allowed us to involve the entire church through prayer, share the reasons daily, and broaden our vision.” 

The Gualeguaychú Church of the Nazarene from the Mesopotamian District taught children about the Alabaster Offering, which allows churches to translate their generosity into schools, hospitals, churches, seminaries, and more. 

“Through a video, we shared about Alabaster, and the children made an envelope in the shape of a church, which they later used at the end of the service to raise this offering themselves,” said Veronica Horst, NMI coordinator for the Argentina Mesopotamian District. “We saw them very happy to be a part, and they also asked for their envelopes to collect at home. It was a beautiful experience, one that will remain etched in them forever.”

The members of the Central Patagonia District met in the Iglesia del Nazareno Plenitud de vida in Trelew on 19 March for the second district NMI meeting, this time mobilizing the church by seeing what the Lord is doing in Mali.

“We are working to raise missions awareness in our district, and we believe the Lord is at work,” said Pastor Jorge Diaz. “We were shocked by what it means to serve in countries with another (non-Christian) belief.” 

The Litoral District held its first meeting of NMI presidents on 27 March. Missionary Cintia Pepermans gave a workshop on the biblical basis of the mission and our responsibility, paradigms, and challenges. 

"The Lord is opening our eyes to another way of doing missions, understanding in a different way, from His Word," said Marta Charra, president of the district's NMI.
