Together for the First Time Since the Pandemic

NDI Presidents

NDI district presidents elected between 2020 and 2022 met at the Global Ministry Center to share about their new assignments, learn from other experienced district leaders, and prepare for the coming NDI General Convention.

The agenda of the two-day meeting included:

  • Special devotional messages by NDI Global Director Dr. Scott Rainey and NDI educational field coordinators Darlene Franks and Tom Boese.
  • Instructional presentations by NDI educational field coordinators Jim Clifton, Tom Boese, Darlene Franks, James Hicks, and members of the NDI global office staff.
  • Special resourcing presentations via Zoom from a number of NDI ministry partners.

Attention was given to the upcoming NDI Global Convention on these topics:

Special focus was given to the nomination of NDI General Board member by NDI General Convention delegates outlined in the text below.  

In the spring of 2023, NDI General Convention delegates will have the opportunity to choose the USA/Canada nominee to be a voting member of the General Board of the Church of the Nazarene.

The election will take place in three steps. 

  • In the first phase, each district presents the name of its chosen nominee to the NDI global office by March 15, 2023.
  • In the second phase, each NDI General Convention delegate in each of the educational regions/fields will choose two nominees from its region/field to appear in the final ballot.  For those participating electronically, this second ballot will be distributed in May.
  • In the third phase, an electronic ballot will be distributed in May to each NDI General Convention delegate on the USA/Canada Region/Field. Each delegate will vote for a single nominee. The chosen nominee, chosen by plurality, will be to be placed on the list of nominees from the other five global regions.

At the NDI Convention, the Global NDI council, along with the NDI global director, will select one name from the six global regions to be submitted to the General Assembly for approval.
