2022 Nazarene missionaries commissioned

The Church of the Nazarene's Global Missions office recommended 12 missionaries for commissioning during the 98th General Board Session, held virtually 25-28 February.

These missionaries have each been serving in long-term strategic assignments in diverse settings around the world. The commissioning of missionaries is a recognition of the life and call of the missionary, an indication of the missionary’s willingness to serve wherever the church needs them, and an affirmation of their service into the future.

Jacques and Mamboya Hortence Balibanga have served as missionaries since 2018. They have nine children. Jacques works in church planting and church growth and development and also serves as the Africa Central Field literature coordinator. Hortence serves in children’s and women’s ministries as well as Nazarene Compassionate Ministries. Their home church is on the DRC Central North Kivu District. They are being commissioned as missionaries on global assignment to serve in the Africa Region. 

Errol and Rhonda Carrim have served as missionaries since 2019. They have one daughter. Errol serves as the operations manager at Nazarene Theological College–South Africa while Rhonda serves as the principal of Nazarene Theological College–South Africa. Their home church is on the U.S. Intermountain District. The Carrims are being commissioned as missionaries on global assignment to serve in the Africa Region. 

Yoan and Astrid Camacaro have served as missionaries since 2018. They have two sons. Yoan serves as the district superintendent of the Paraguay Central District, the Paraguay evangelism coordinator, and the South America Region church planting coordinator. Astrid is the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries and child sponsorship coordinator in Paraguay. Their home church is on the Venezuela Central West District. They are being commissioned as missionaries on global assignment to serve in the South America Region. 

Socorro and Sara Fontes have served as missionaries since 2018. They have four children. Socorro serves in church growth and development as well as ministerial training. Sara serves in Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, women’s ministries, and child sponsorship. Their home church is on the Cape Verde District. They are being commissioned as missionaries on global assignment to serve in the Africa Region. 

David and Ruth Huanca have served as missionaries since 2018. They have two sons. David serves as the South America regional IT coordinator and as a member of the regional productions team. Ruth serves as the regional Nazarene Missions International coordinator. Their home church is on the Chile Central District. They are being commissioned as missionaries on global assignment to serve in the South America Region. 

Milly and Agnes Ibanda have served as missionaries since 2017. They have five children. Milly is the Nazarene Compassionate Ministry coordinator and Agnes is the education coordinator for Madagascar and Mauritius. Their home church is on the DRC Central North Kivu District. They are being commissioned as missionaries on global assignment to serve in the Africa Region.
