Merry Christmas from the Board of General Superintendents
In this season of Advent, let the Word of God speak to everyone about the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ:
"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel." (Isaiah 7:14, NIV)
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6, NIV)
How grateful we are in the Church of the Nazarene that this is an international celebration, a joyful time for Christians to reflect upon God's gift to the world — the Word made flesh. For more than 2,000 years we have been richly blessed by the faith and hope given to us through Jesus Christ.
For some this Christmas will be a time of pain and suffering because of persecution and devastating events in various parts of the world. We remember our brothers and sisters in Christ who have experienced many losses, for some even family members and homes. Be assured of our prayers and tangible support.
May the Prince of Peace reign in our hearts and our lives this Christmas, and may the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, make His presence known to you this very day.
