Church members cordon off land for church building in Venezuela

Families of the Kingdom Ministerial Vision Church of the Nazarene is a church-type mission located in the village of El Guarapo, Venezuela. Recently, a man gave land to build a permanent church building.

Ogla Ortiz de Parra and Carlos Parra, pastors at Families of the Kingdom, have worked in El Guarapo since 2019. El Guarapo is an agricultural community with an accessible road. However, public transport to access it is non-existent.

On several occasions, the Parras have reached El Guarapo by walking or asking for a ride from drivers of trucks and motorcycles. However, this hasn’t discouraged the Parras from carrying the message to El Guarapo.

The church had been meeting in the house of a church member, but one day they were told they could no longer be there.

“From that moment, we began to pray for our own land to begin the construction of the church and for the future of being an organized Church of the Nazarene,” Ogla said.

One day, one of the congregants heard that a man who owned cattle and land was giving plots to locals who did not have houses to build their own. So Ogla and the church began to pray, specifically placing this generous man in the hands of God. They approached that landowner with their desire to plant a church there.

The Lord answered their prayers through that man, as he gave them a piece of the land to build the church. They have already begun building a fence and preparing the ground for thechurch building, thanks to some materials the district was able to provide for them.

“Thank God for touching this man's heart,” Ogla said. “What a great blessing!”
