Byron E. Schortinghouse stepped down from his position of leadership as district superintendent at the 90th assembly of the Arizona District on May 21.

Schortinghouse was appointed as the Arizona district superintendent by General Superintendent James H. Diehl in 2005 and has served well in that position for six years.

The jurisdictional general superintendent will work closely with the Arizona District Advisory Board to fill this vacancy.

Prior to 2005, Schortinghouse was district superintendent for Southern Florida (1994-2005) and served in Papua New Guinea, Australia, New Zealand, and Florida.

Byron and his wife, Leanna, currently reside in Chandler, Arizona.
