A Samoan pastor saw members of his congregation transformed as they participated in Nazarene Continuing Lay Training courses.

Recently Pastor Lalofau Leifi wrote to Continuing Lay Training at the Global Ministry Center to express his gratitude for the lay ministry courses he downloaded at www.DiscipleshipPlace.org. To date, he has taken nine people through the classes and has experienced the difference it has made in his congregants.

Two of these thankful students are Baptists, one of which is the pastor of the Anchorage Samoan Baptist Church. Both have shared their hope that CLT classes will be available to all Samoan people regardless of their religious affiliation.

“Truly, all Samoan people need to be in this class,” the pastor said. “We have never experienced such well written materials or such a great wealth of information. Our thanks to the Nazarene (CLT) ministry.”

In the same spirit, the Samoan Nazarene laity in the class have expressed their joy in the classes by volunteering to speak on Sundays for the first time in their lives.

One day during the class, a participant, Rita Fisher, said, “This class is really making me want to teach a Sunday school class. My husband and two teenagers have thanked me for the difference they see in my life.”

“There is no greater feeling than to be a witness to God’s transformational power in people’s lives and see how they are being used in His Kingdom,” said Pastor Fau, a pastor, teacher, and mentor for the class. “It encourages me to continue teaching the classes.”
