Olivet Nazarene University will have a special ceremony Saturday, May 7, for the naming of the university's Admissions Center in honor of Olivet President John and Jill Bowling.

The ceremony will take place at 8:30 a.m. at the entrance of the Admissions Center, which is at the intersection of Route 45 and University Avenue in Bourbonnais, Illinois.

At their semi-annual meeting October 28, 2010, the Board of Trustees unanimously voted to name the center near the main university entrance the "Jill and John Bowling Admissions Center" in honor of the Bowlings' 20 years of service to Olivet.

"The Admissions Center is at the heart of our recruitment efforts," said Ted Lee, chairman of the board. "Hundreds of families pass through it every year when they come to the campus for the first time. How appropriate that the names of our esteemed president and his wife will be there to greet them."

The ceremony will take place as part of the Board of Trustees' spring meeting during Olivet's 98th annual Commencement festivities.
