In Memoriam: 18 August 2017

The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who recently went home to be with the Lord. Notices were received 14-18 August 2017.

Rexford Boda, 84, of Kissimmee, Florida, passed away 4 August. He served as director of General Studies and director of Athletics at Canadian Bible College (now Ambrose University). In 1971 he was appointed academic dean, and in 1979, president of Canadian Bible College and Canadian Theological Seminary. He is survived by his wife, Jean Boda. 

Wilburn Clark, 75, of Blountsville, Alabama, passed away 13 August. He was a retired minister, serving in Alabama. He is survived by his wife, Denise Clark.

Lin Hsiu Feng, 69, passed away 5 August 2017. She was the wife of former Taiwan District Superintendent Min Lu Chang, who served as pastor of the Daxi and Qiao Ai Church of the Nazarene for 45 years and also served as superintendent of the Taiwan District for 10 years.

Mary Hoeckle, 91, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away 9 August. She was the widow of retired minister Wesley Hoeckle, who served in Texas and South Dakota. Wesley Hoeckle passed away in 1995.

Audrey Koons, 86, of Ogden, Utah, passed away 12 August. She was the widow of retired minister I. Carl Koons, who served in Utah, Nevada, Montana, and California. I. Carl Koons passed away in 2015.

Clarence Lykins, 86, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away 14 August. He was a retired evangelist, serving in Tennessee, Florida, Texas, and Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Lykins, in 2016.

Patricia McElrath, 79, of Tempe, Arizona, passed away 10 August. She was the wife of retired minister Stanley McElrath, who served in Arizona.

Blanca Ortiz, 91, of Rialto, California, passed away 8 August. She was the wife of retired minister Diego Ortiz, who served in California.

Jill Richardson, 44, of Obetz, Ohio, passed away 8 August. She was the wife of minister Guiles Richardson Jr., who serves in Ohio.

Wendy Riggan, 67, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away 11 August. She was the wife of retired minister Rodney Riggan, who served in Texas, New Mexico, Ohio, and Missouri.

Eloise Steele, 94, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away 15 August. She was the widow of retired evangelist James Steele Jr., who served in Florida, Wisconsin, and what is now the MidSouth District. James Steele Jr. passed away in 2015.

Glenna Taylor, 82, of Harlingen, Texas, passed away 10 August. She was the wife of retired minister Clayton Taylor, who served in Texas.

Sue Watson, 73, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away 14 August. She was the wife of retired minister Lindell Watson, who served in Texas, Arizona, and Oklahoma.
