Bill Jetton passed away November 6 at the Salem Place in Conway, Arkansas. Jetton served as a Nazarene pastor for more than 30 years in Arkansas, Indiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. He was 95 years old at his death and had recently fallen and broken his hip. His funeral will be at the Greenbrier, Arkansas, Church of the Nazarene 2 p.m. November 10.

During World War II, Jetton served as a sharp-shooter in the U.S. Infantry in Okinawa, Japan, where he was wounded in action and received a Purple Heart. He left the battlefield on the hospital ship, U.S.S. Comfort. He returned home to be a Nazarene preacher.

Bill was a “child of the depression,” the eighth of 10 children born to Tom and Laura Jetton in northeastern Oklahoma. He was the last living member of his family. Bill is survived by his wife, Myrtle Lee, two daughters, Billy Lee Spindle (Oklahoma) and Bonnie Rodin (Arkansas), and two sons, Max Jetton (Oregon), and Danny Jetton (Arizona). The Jettons were also blessed with 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
