In Memoriam: September 2, 2016

The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who recently went home to be with the Lord. Notices were received August 29 - September 2, 2016.

N. Ruth Casteel, 81, of Annapolis, Missouri, passed away August 23. She was the wife of retired minister Howard Casteel, who served in Missouri, Arkansas, and Nebraska. 

Dunn Cochran, 92, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away August 29. He was a retired minister, serving in Georgia, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Florida. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Cochran. 

Gladys (Cottle) Copen, 88, of North Augusta, South Carolina, passed away August 29. She was the widow of retired minister Marshall Copen, who passed away in 1979. 

Louise May Karker, 94, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away August 27. She was a retired missionary, serving in Swaziland, South Africa, and Lebanon. She was preceded in death by her husband, retired missionary Oliver Karker, who served in Swaziland, South Africa, and Lebanon. Oliver Karker passed away in 2002.

C. R. Mitchum, 90, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away August 26. He was a retired minister, serving in Indiana. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Mitchum. 

Willie (Player) Myers, 89, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away August 31. She was the widow of retired minister Jack Myers Sr., who served in Tennessee, South Carolina, Arkansas, and Alabama. Jack Myers passed away in 1992. 

Philip Steigleder, 93, of Arcadia, California, passed away August 23. He was a retired minister and missionary, serving in California and South Africa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Steigleder, in 2007. 

Earl Terrell Sr., 71, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away August 18. He was a minister, serving at Memphis Faithful Believers Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Terrell. 

Anthony "Tony" Vohar, 83, of Pickerington, Ohio, passed away August 21. He was a retired minister, serving in Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Janet (Daily) Vohar.
