Mount Sinai Church of the Nazarene participated in the first Maximum Mission trip from the Ecuador North Mountain District. The church is pastored by Hernán Puga who worked with local church ministries and the district missions council to create a team of 25 members. The group visited the Juan Eulogio I Church of the Nazarene, located in Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas on the Ecuador North Coast District.

The event began with recreational activities for the children in the community, and about 90 children participated. In the afternoon, the team cleaned up a park near the church while the evangelism team shared the salvation message with people passing by.

The same afternoon, the team visited several church families who were ill and gave them a basket of love with non-perishable goods. They also prayed for their families, and some of the members received Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Through this event, a total of 30 baskets of love were passed out.

During a special evangelism service that evening, youth from the Mount Sinai Church of the Nazarene shared a skit and a powerful testimony of how God has transformed their lives. The message for the night was brought by Giovanna Vásquez, national missions coordinator. There were more than 100 people in attendance for this service, and 10 people accepted the invitation to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

On Sunday, the group held a children’s service and the youth from Mount Sinai and Juan Eulogio made presentations with evangelistic messages. The message for the morning was brought by Pastor Nancy Álvarez.

The members of the Maximum Mission team were blessed by the trip and their ability to meet the community’s needs through the Lord’s help. The Mount Sinai Church of the Nazarene is highly committed to the Great Commission and has a passionate desire to carry the message of salvation to all of Ecuador.
