In Memoriam: 5 January 2018

The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who recently went home to be with the Lord. Notices were received 1-5 January 2018.

Barbara (Hendricks) Braundmeier, 88, of Watseka, Illinois, passed away 20 December. She was the widow of retired minister Jack Braundmeier, who served in Illinois and Wisconsin. Jack Braundmeier passed away in 2009. 

Jim Dillow, 70, of Fort Scott, Kansas, passed away 30 December. He was a minister and district superintendent, previously serving in Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas and leading the Joplin District. He is survived by his wife, Susan Dillow. 

I. Ervin Emmert Jr., 90, of Wheeler, Texas, passed away 22 December. He was a retired minister, serving in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kansas. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie (Willison) Emmert.

Alta (Richards) Everett, 99, of Longmont, Colorado, passed away 14 December. She was the widow of retired minister James Everett, who served in Ohio and Illinois. James Everett passed away in 1993. 

C. Angelina Gassett, 92, of Hoodsport, Washington, passed away 31 December. She was the widow of retired ministers Jonathan Gassett and Danford Alger. Jonathan Gassett served in Kansas and Oklahoma in addition to leading the Upstate New York and North Florida districts. He passed away in 2014. Danford Alger served in Oklahoma, California, and Texas before passing away in 1999. 

Mildred "Millie" (Stillwell) Gibson, 90, Paso Robles, California, passed away 22 December. She was the widow of retired minister Gordon Gibson, who served in California. Gordon Gibson passed away in 2009.

William Hess, 85, of Hershey, Pennsylvania, passed away 28 December. He was a retired minister, serving in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene (Kramer) Hess, and is survived by his second wife, Kathleen (Shott) Hess. 

Patricia (Russell) Ingram, 73, of Ridge Farm, Illinois, passed away 26 December. She was the wife of retired minister Ronald Ingram, who served in Illinois and Indiana. 

Robert Johnson, 84, of Tacoma, Washington, passed away 19 December. He was a retired minister, serving in Indiana, Washington, Alaska, Illinois, and Texas. He is survived by his wife, Dana Johnson. 

Ithel Kenser, 83, of Lewistown, Illinois, passed away 3 January. He was a retired minister, serving in Arkansas and Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Kenser. 

Florence McNeely, 95, of Mount Sterling, Ohio, passed away 30 December. She was the widow of retired minister Robert McNeely, who served in Ohio. Robert McNeely passed away in 2014. 

James Moss, 91, of Chillicothe, Ohio, passed away 22 December. He was a minister, previously serving in Ohio, West Virginia, Kansas, and Indiana. He was preceded in death by his wife, June Moss, in 2016. 

Amy Paulus, 47, of Merrill, Michigan, passed away 19 December. She was the wife of minister John Paulus, who pastors the Market Street Square Church of the Nazarene in Chesaning, Michigan. 

Anderson Rearick Jr., 90, of Derry, New Hampshire, passed away 1 January. He was a retired minister and educator, serving in New York and Massachusetts. He is survived by his wife, retired minister, educator, and chaplain Ann (Cubie) Rearick, who served in New York and Massachusetts. 

John Stubbs, 72, North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, passed away 2 January. He was a retired minister, serving in Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife, Janet Switzer-Stubbs. 

Dodd Termaine, 79, of Puyallup, Washington, passed away 21 December. He was a retired minister, serving in California. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Tremaine. 

Marilyn Turner, 81, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away 5 January. She was a former employee at the Church of the Nazarene's International Headquarters and the wife of retired minister J. Paul Turner, who served in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Idaho.
