During the 26th assembly of the South Paraguay District, attendees celebrated the appointment of a new district superintendent.

After several months of prayer, and contingent on the provisions of the Manual of the Church of the Nazarene, Tito Lidio de Jesus Paredes was appointed as the new superintendent.

Paredes, who became an ordained elder in 2022, also serves as chaplain of the armed forces of Paraguay and is president of the interdenominational pastoral council of his province.

Pablo Tello led the Paraguay South District during the last five years. His hard work and dedication helped raise up more national leaders within the country, including Paredes.

"The desire of our heart and our constant prayer, from the beginning, was that the Lord would raise up national leaders, Paraguayans who love and know their land, who are passionate about God and his work,” Tello said. “Today, out of three districts in the country, two have a superintendent from Paraguay. Hallelujah!”

In addition to Paredes’ appointment, the assembly included reports presented by pastors and ministerial leaders from three provinces of the country.
