Puerto Rico holds national youth camp

More than 250 young people from Puerto Rico met from August 9 to 11 to hold their national camp with the theme “Have You Decided?”

During the weekend, they had conversations around the decisions they must make daily and how those decisions affect them.

“We were able to reflect and understand that choices like choosing where to spend a Friday night, whom we decided to love, etc.,” said Alanys Plaza, District Communications Coordinator. "Those choices have a huge impact on our lives."

The youth participated in a variety of activities, including preaching, workshops, devotionals, interactive experiences like “Twin Day,” and a special time of Holy Communion.

The preaching of the Word was by Pastor Ricardo González, Keropi Sánchez, Pastor Nancy Maldonado, Chantal Rodríguez, and the RUACH band.

The camp was led by Steven Torres, Western District Nazarene Youth International president, and Imer Martín, NYI President of the Eastern District, with the support of Puerto Rico West District Superintendent Marta González and East District Superintendent Andrés Hernández.

“At the end, the young people were inspired and decided to follow and serve the Lord, which was the purpose of the camp," Plaza said. "And as always, the Lord never ceases to surprise us… We left renewed and focused for future decision making; in this way we will walk firmly by His side.”
