In Memoriam: 28 July 2017

The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who recently went home to be with the Lord. Notices were received 24-28 July 2017.

A. Edward Bishop, 73, of Manchester, Georgia, passed away 25 July. He was a retired minister, serving in Georgia. He is survived by his wife, Jean Bishop.

Thelma Bumgardner, 77, of Greencastle, Indiana, passed away 23 July. She was a lifetime member of Greencastle Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by her husband, Willard Bumgardner.

Emogene Dayton, 93, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, passed away 20 July. She was the widow of retired minister Webster Dayton, who served in New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Webster Dayton passed away in 2005.

Ninetta Eddy, 89, of Windham, Maine, passed away 22 July. She was the wife of retired minister Gerald Eddy, who served in Connecticut, New York, and Maine. 

Romayne Ford, 96, of Murphy, North Carolina, passed away 25 July. She was the widow of retired minister Norman Ford, who served in Pennsylvania, Florida, and New York. Norman Ford passed away in June.

Larry Houck, 70, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away 22 July. He was an educator, serving at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Houck. (MVNU story)

Willard Huffman, 97, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away 26 July. He was a retired minister, serving in Illinois and Iowa. He was preceded in death by his wife, June Huffman, who passed away in 2010.

Sharon Odle, 77, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away 26 July. She was the wife of retired minister Carl Odle, who served in Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kansas, and Illinois. 

William Rhoades, 83, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away 20 July. He was a retired minister, serving in Kentucky. He is survived by his wife, Naomi Rhoades.

Lynn Robertson, 58, of Big Spring, Texas, passed away 21 July. She was a minister, serving in Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Robertson Sr., who passed away in 2013.
