USA/Canada universities announce fall enrollment numbers

Five Nazarene schools have released enrollment numbers, including two schools with record years. The reports are based on the 10-day count.

MVNU celebrates increased freshman class enrollment, retention numbers

Mount Vernon Nazarene University's first-time freshmen increased for the fall 2015 semester.

University Registrar Mel Severns said MVNU achieved a strong enrollment.

“Our freshmen retention rate was over 80 percent for the second year in a row," he said. "Last year the rate was 82.1 percent, and this year it was 80.1 percent.”

NBC celebrates fall 2015 enrollment increase

Nazarene Bible College reports a 4.5 percent increase in the student body and a fall 2015 enrollment of 155 new ministry students.

NNU announces steady overall fall 2015 enrollment

Northwest Nazarene University Interim President Joel Pearsall announced this year’s enrollment of 2,035 students. 

“I am pleased with our enrollment numbers this year," Pearsall said. "But beyond the numbers, I’m delighted by the individuals I’ve personally encountered who are now calling NNU their home. Having just spent time getting to know our freshmen better at Freshman Retreat, I know this class of students will contribute greatly to the NNU community in the years ahead.”

Overall, numbers for 2015 of 1,323 undergraduate and 712 graduate and doctoral students indicate a steady total enrollment number of 2,035 compared with 2,058 students in fall 2014.

Olivet reports record enrollment

Olivet Nazarene University reported the highest enrollment in the university’s 108-year history, including the largest-ever senior class and a record number of students living in residence on the main campus in Bourbonnais, Illinois.

Enrollment figures show a total of 4,916 students, including 1,390 who are new or transfer students. Of nearly 2,900 undergraduates, 2,358 live on campus. The senior class numbers 756.

In Olivet’s School of Graduate and Continuing Studies, enrollment topped 2,000 for fall semester, reflecting the university’s midwest expansion with new regional centers in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Grand Rapids and Grand Ledge, Michigan.

SNU enrolls largest freshman class since 2007

Southern Nazarene University announced the highest incoming freshman class the university has seen since 2007. Total enrollment is 2,254.

“Daily, we see how God is doing something amazing on this campus, and if we continue to work hard and give it over to Him, incredible things are ahead for this university,” said Linda Cantwell, vice president for enrollment management.

Trevecca breaks all-time enrollment record

For the second consecutive year, Trevecca Nazarene University has broken its all-time enrollment record in traditional undergraduate students. After the first week of classes, the university recorded an enrollment of 1,245, marking the first time numbers have topped 1,200 in university history.

Last fall, Trevecca broke a 113-year all-time enrollment record with 1,115 traditional undergraduate students. This year’s numbers reflect a 12 percent increase over that record-breaking enrollment. In addition, the fall enrollment number marks a 25 percent increase in traditional undergraduate students over the past five years.

A large incoming freshmen class and increased number of transfer students, as well as a high retention rate of current students, all played a part.
