MidAmerica Nazarene University Director of Athletics Todd Garrett announced the untimely passing of Myzelle Law, a beloved university student and member of the MNU football team, on 30 July. Law, 19, was a sophomore defensive lineman for the Pioneers.

Nazarene Theological Seminary has received a grant of $1.25 million from Lilly Endowment Inc. to help establish Caring Nurture and Nurturing Care Through Worship and Prayer with Children. It is the largest grant received in the institution's history.
