Marcial Banda Rafael was elected superintendent for the North Peru District on 2 November 2019 for a two-year term.

Upon learning of the results of the election, Rafael expressed his gratitude to God and committed to taking on this new challenge with faith that God will do great things.

"This election means [to me] that God's plans are wonderful and surprising," Rafael said. "It is an honor and a great responsibility to lead the Peru North District. As a pioneer district, I wish to see a district that as a great evangelistic impact at a national level through the holistic development of each Nazarene church."

The district also expressed their gratitude to the former superintendent, Ricardo Rodriguez. They thanked him for his leadership and were satisfied with the change in direction of the district. Everyone committed to continue making Christlike disciples in this region of Peru.

General Superintendent Gustavo Crocker oversaw the assembly along with Regional Director Christian Sarmiento and Central Andean Field Strategy Coordinator Evelio Vasquez.

The assembly recognized the occasion of the 100th assembly of the North Peru District by presenting a plaque. Crocker, along with Pastor Nelida Pachamora Davila, was in charge of this special moment for the Church of the Nazarene in Peru.
