This week General Superintendent David W. Graves announced the appointment of Wendell Brown as superintendent of the North Central Ohio District

Brown pastors the Heritage Church of the Nazarene, which has locations in Circleville, Chillicothe, and Waverly, Ohio. He follows Stephen Ward, who retired in July after 10 years as district superintendent.

“Throughout the years, North Central Ohio has been blessed with tremendous district leadership and fantastic pastors," Brown stated on the district website. "It is truly a blessing to have an opportunity to serve with such talented and committed people. We believe that God has put us together ‘for a time such as this’ and are trusting that He will lead us to reach the lost with His love. We have both an immense responsibility and an exciting opportunity to share His love with the world. May God give us wisdom for the task at hand and use each of our 63 churches in 22 counties to share His love with the world. I look forward to meeting each of you and laboring with you to bring glory to God. I am excited to be a part NCO’s rich history.”

Prior to joining Heritage in 2009, Brown led the Jason Chapel Church of the Nazarene in Dickson, Tennessee, and Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Huntsville, Alabama.

Wendell and his wife, Tammi Jo, reside in Circleville, Ohio.
