Retired missionary, minister passes away

Retired missionary and minister Fern Scrivner passed away 7 April. She was 102 years old.

Fern was born in 1916 in Minatare, Nebraska, to Milton and Augusta Casteel. She graduated from Pasadena Nazarene College (now Point Loma Nazarene University) where she met Fulsom Scrivner, and they were married in 1939 in Alhambra, California. 

Beginning in 1943, Fern and Fulsom were missionaries to Native American tribes throughout the American Southwest for nearly 30 years. She served as a school teacher and minister before she retired in 1977.

Fern was preceded in death by her husband, Fulsom, and her daughter Carol. She is survived by her children, Dennis and Janice, and her 16 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held 16 April at Bethel Church of the Nazarene in Nampa, Idaho.

Prayer is requested for the Scrivner family.
