Camias Church of the Nazarene was able to open an educational center and offer resources the community had never experienced, thanks in part to its parent church, Cabanatuan Church of the Nazarene.</p> <p>Crisanto “Cryz” Colorado, superintendent of the Metropolitan District, believes that education is important in the transformation of a community. He thanked God for those who dreamed, believed, and partnered with them in this battle cry of “transforming the community through education.”  </p> <p>The project started with very limited resources, but Colorado believed that God would provide.  After three months of construction work and multiple Work &amp; Witness teams, the building is now useable for the children. The center can accommodate 15 students at a time, and two desktop computers were set up and connected to the internet for online classes and research needs. </p> <p>The facility was dedicated on the celebration of the church’s eighth anniversary. The children and young adults were so excited to witness God’s goodness in their community during the dedication, especially when they saw the computers since no one in the community owns one. Most students use mobile phones for their online classes and research.  </p> <p>The senior high school and college students living in the community have also pledged to volunteer their time in providing tutorials for the younger children. This partnership makes the project a real team effort.</p> <p>“There is still a lot needed to complete the center,” Colorado said. “One room is still being developed as a library and another room will be constructed as sleeping quarters for volunteers and workers. But we praise God that our students can now start using the center.”</p> <p>The project is also inspiring more young people in Camias to study and finish college. Next year, the church will have four new college students, and their first college student will graduate this coming June. This is very encouraging for a community like Camias. But more importantly, these young people are being called and equipped by God.</p> <p> An 11th grader, Renren Balili shared, “I want to go to Bible college and be a pastor someday.”</p> <p>--<a href="asiapacificnazarene.org">Church of the Nazarene Asia-Pacific</a></p> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-publish-date field--type-datetime field--label-hidden field-news-publish-date field__item"><time datetime="2021-04-22T12:00:00Z">22 Apr, 2021</time> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-comments field--type-facebook-comments field--label-hidden field-news-comments field__item"><div id="fb-root"></div> <script>(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) {return;} js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, "script", "facebook-jssdk"));</script> <div class="fb-comments fb-comments-fluid" data-href="https://nazarene.org/rss.xml" data-num-posts="15" data-width="620" data-colorscheme="light"></div></div> <div class="field field--name-field-editor-pick field--type-boolean field--label-above field-editor-pick"> <div class="field__label">Editor Pick</div> <div class="field__item">On</div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-media field--type-entity-reference field--label-hidden field-news-media field__item"><article> <div class="blazy field field--name-field-media-image field--type-image field--label-visually_hidden field-media-image" data-blazy=""> <div class="field__label visually-hidden">Image</div> <div class="field__item"> <div style="padding-bottom: 53.33%" class="media media--blazy media--loading media--ratio media--ratio--fluid media--image"> <img height="400" width="750" class="b-lazy media__image media__element" data-src="/sites/default/files/styles/original_image/public/2021-04/camias-student-center.png?itok=HdsQjd9u" alt="Camias student center" src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" typeof="foaf:Image" /> </div> </div> </div> </article> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-tags field--type-entity-reference field--label-above field-news-tags"> <div class="field__label">Tags</div> <div class="field__items"> <div class="field__item"><a href="/all-news?keywords=&amp;tag%5B0%5D=67&amp;tag%5B1%5D=67&amp;sort_by=created">Asia-Pacific Region</a></div> <div class="field__item"><a href="/all-news?keywords=&amp;tag%5B0%5D=95&amp;tag%5B1%5D=95&amp;sort_by=created">Philippines</a></div> </div> </div> Thu, 22 Apr 2021 14:01:01 +0000 dlsperry94 5616 at https://nazarene.org Nazarene women across Chile join together in celebration https://nazarene.org/article/nazarene-women-across-chile-join-together-celebration <h2>Nazarene women across Chile join together in celebration</h2> <span><span lang="" about="/user/181" typeof="schema:Person" property="schema:name" datatype="">dlsperry94</span></span> <span>Fri, 04/16/2021 - 15:25</span> <div class="field field--name-field-news-author field--type-string field--label-hidden field-news-author field__item">Church of the Nazarene South America</div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-popular field--type-boolean field--label-hidden field-news-popular field__item">No</div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field-news-body field__item"><p>More than 150 women throughout Chile participated in the first national celebration of Women's Day, an activity that was organized by Pastor Ana Mardones, coordinator of the Ministry to Women (MAM) in Chile, together with her work team.</p> <p>The March event was broadcast via Facebook and YouTube, allowing it to be later shared and viewed by more than 1,200 women. </p> <p>In addition to highlighting the work of women, special recognition was given to all pastors and pastors' wives for their ministry and dedication in the work of God. So we got the equipment and found some volunteers to help champion that area, but as we were journeying through that, I knew that it still had to come back to discipleship.”</p> <p>Coulter believes the definition of discipleship is important when considering new models and programs.</p> <p>“To me, discipleship is in the context of relationship,” Coulter said. “Jesus modeled that, and He did that. He invited them into His life and did life with them. The reality is that almost every single person in this world we are trying to reach is online. To not continue to lean into that I think is a catastrophic mistake.”</p> <p>Lindsey Murphy leads the church’s online congregational while she lives in Alabama. She says The Valley-Troy staff like to do what they call “try-storming.”</p> <p>“With the digital world moving so fast, you have to be willing to try things immediately,” Murphy said. “There really isn’t room to brainstorm for hours and let it sit on a whiteboard for months and come back to it later.”</p> <p>In analyzing the best way to disciple people online, Murphy first looked at several social media platforms and the differences between each one. They settled on using Facebook because they felt it was the best place to build community.</p> <p>Murphy decided to start a Facebook group that provided community support for moms whose children were in the middle of distance-learning protocols. That group blossomed into groups for topical Bible studies, a support for mothers whose children are doing distance learning, and a 30 Days in the Word challenge that includes 70 different people across nine states and Puerto Rico. All of them share and discuss what God has been doing in their lives as they dove into His word. </p> <p>Missie McSweeney joined one of Murphy’s small groups. The Michigan native got connected with a church in Ohio because of a pastor in Alabama. </p> <p>"Being connected to church or small Bible study groups has been very important to me all my life,” McSweeny said. “The pandemic cut off my in-person lifeline. I was so excited when The Valley Church shifted to the digital world. I was able to continue my walk with God through their innovative and up-to-date ways of communication. The Valley's digital footprint brought people from outside my hometown, gathering people from all over the nation, and has given me perspective and understanding of other people in other places and situations.“</p> <p>While Murphy and Coulter stress the importance of an online presence, they also understand the need for face-to-face interaction.</p> <p>“I have a challenge put forth right now with my moms' group to be praying about who in their community needs a group like this,” Murphy said. “Ultimately, while we are doing discipleship, Christ has always called us into community. That is also face-to-face that should never disappear. You know, I think that's one of the misnomers when we talk about digital or online people saying, ‘Well, don't people need to come?’ Yes, but they don't necessarily need to come to your church. Maybe they need to come to your house.</p> <p>“If we're discipling correctly, then if they live in a completely different state, the Holy Spirit will do the work that needs to be done and call them into community face-to-face with people.”</p> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-publish-date field--type-datetime field--label-hidden field-news-publish-date field__item"><time datetime="2021-04-16T12:00:00Z">16 Apr, 2021</time> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-comments field--type-facebook-comments field--label-hidden field-news-comments field__item"><div id="fb-root"></div> <script>(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) {return;} js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, "script", "facebook-jssdk"));</script> <div class="fb-comments fb-comments-fluid" data-href="https://nazarene.org/rss.xml" data-num-posts="15" data-width="620" data-colorscheme="light"></div></div> <div class="field field--name-field-editor-pick field--type-boolean field--label-above field-editor-pick"> <div class="field__label">Editor Pick</div> <div class="field__item">On</div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-media field--type-entity-reference field--label-hidden field-news-media field__item"><article> <div class="blazy field field--name-field-media-image field--type-image field--label-visually_hidden field-media-image" data-blazy=""> <div class="field__label visually-hidden">Image</div> <div class="field__item"> <div style="padding-bottom: 53.33%" class="media media--blazy media--loading media--ratio media--ratio--fluid media--image"> <img height="400" width="750" class="b-lazy media__image media__element" data-src="/sites/default/files/styles/original_image/public/2021-04/Try%20storming.png?itok=koPRJacN" alt="Try Storming" src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" typeof="foaf:Image" /> </div> </div> </div> </article> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-tags field--type-entity-reference field--label-above field-news-tags"> <div class="field__label">Tags</div> <div class="field__items"> <div class="field__item"><a href="/all-news?keywords=&amp;tag%5B0%5D=63&amp;tag%5B1%5D=63&amp;sort_by=created">USA/Canada</a></div> <div class="field__item"><a href="/all-news?keywords=&amp;tag%5B0%5D=101&amp;tag%5B1%5D=101&amp;sort_by=created">Ohio</a></div> </div> </div> Fri, 16 Apr 2021 15:11:00 +0000 dlsperry94 5614 at https://nazarene.org SENDAS introduces course on theology of women in ministry https://nazarene.org/article/sendas-introduces-course-theology-women-ministry <h2>SENDAS introduces course on theology of women in ministry</h2> <span><span lang="" about="/user/181" typeof="schema:Person" property="schema:name" datatype="">dlsperry94</span></span> <span>Thu, 04/15/2021 - 18:56</span> <div class="field field--name-field-news-author field--type-string field--label-hidden field-news-author field__item">Church of the Nazarene Mesoamerica</div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-popular field--type-boolean field--label-hidden field-news-popular field__item">No</div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field-news-body field__item"><p>When the Nazarene Seminary of the Americas (SENDAS) underwent a curriculum reform for its bachelor’s program in 2020, they added a course on the Theology of Women in Ministry. In its first implementations, it made a significant impact on the lives of those who took the course.</p> <p>“This subject has come to destroy walls,” said Ramón Galdamez, a participant from California. “It is a bombshell for those who read the Bible from a male perspective.”</p> <p>The course was taught for the first time to two different classes during the January-March quarter. The courses were conducted via Zoom with instructors Elvin Heredia from Puerto Rico and Mónica Mastronardi from Costa Rica, who developed the new syllabus.</p> <p>“It has been a privilege and a challenge for me to teach the Theology of Women in Ministry course,” Mastronardi said. “We have studied the Wesleyan, biblical, and theological foundations of gender mutuality and equality in which John Wesley and the founders and founders of the Church of the Nazarene believed and practiced. We are left with the great challenge of encouraging women to overcome their fears and help our leaders to identify the visible and invisible chauvinism that has permeated the beliefs and practices of many Christians.”</p> <p>The course’s base material, translated into Spanish by Mario Zani and his wife, Ana María, was provided by Roberto Hodgson, director of Multicultural Ministries for the United States and Canada Region. This material was expanded upon and supplemented by SENDAS.</p> <p>“This module has changed my mindset,” said Luis Chafla. “The chauvinistic attitude in my heart has been removed. Now I can have a new beginning, but this time I can do it the right way, following the truth. I have learned to interpret the Word in a better way, no longer letting the predominant cultural mindset guide me.”</p> <p>The course was attended by a total of 39 students, 22 women and 17 men, from the Northern California, New England, and New York districts.</p> <p>“Most of the community we serve is Hispanic, and within this culture there is a lot of chauvinism where women are treated as inferior due to ignorance, both within the church and outside,” said Ermunda Hidalgo. “My duty is to help them find their true value in God, that God did not create or see them as inferior human beings but rather that in the eyes of our Father, men and women have the same value and the same capacities.”</p> <p>--<a href="http://www.seminarionazareno.net/" target="_blank">Seminario Nazareno de las Américas</a> </p> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-publish-date field--type-datetime field--label-hidden field-news-publish-date field__item"><time datetime="2021-04-15T12:00:00Z">15 Apr, 2021</time> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-comments field--type-facebook-comments field--label-hidden field-news-comments field__item"><div id="fb-root"></div> <script>(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) {return;} js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, "script", "facebook-jssdk"));</script> <div class="fb-comments fb-comments-fluid" data-href="https://nazarene.org/rss.xml" data-num-posts="15" data-width="620" data-colorscheme="light"></div></div> <div class="field field--name-field-editor-pick field--type-boolean field--label-above field-editor-pick"> <div class="field__label">Editor Pick</div> <div class="field__item">On</div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-media field--type-entity-reference field--label-hidden field-news-media field__item"><article> <div class="blazy field field--name-field-media-image field--type-image field--label-visually_hidden field-media-image" data-blazy=""> <div class="field__label visually-hidden">Image</div> <div class="field__item"> <div style="padding-bottom: 53.33%" class="media media--blazy media--loading media--ratio media--ratio--fluid media--image"> <img height="400" width="750" class="b-lazy media__image media__element" data-src="/sites/default/files/styles/original_image/public/2021-04/Sendas%20Women%20in%20Ministry.png?itok=9NyVIZmw" alt="SENDAS women in ministry course" src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" typeof="foaf:Image" /> </div> </div> </div> </article> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-tags field--type-entity-reference field--label-above field-news-tags"> <div class="field__label">Tags</div> <div class="field__items"> <div class="field__item"><a href="/all-news?keywords=&amp;tag%5B0%5D=58&amp;tag%5B1%5D=58&amp;sort_by=created">Mesoamerica Region</a></div> <div class="field__item"><a href="/all-news?keywords=&amp;tag%5B0%5D=181&amp;tag%5B1%5D=181&amp;sort_by=created">SENDAS</a></div> <div class="field__item"><a href="/all-news?keywords=&amp;tag%5B0%5D=29&amp;tag%5B1%5D=29&amp;sort_by=created">Collegiate</a></div> </div> </div> Thu, 15 Apr 2021 18:56:55 +0000 dlsperry94 5611 at https://nazarene.org Remembering Edna Lochner https://nazarene.org/article/remembering-edna-lochner <h2>Remembering Edna Lochner</h2> <span><span lang="" about="/user/181" typeof="schema:Person" property="schema:name" datatype="">dlsperry94</span></span> <span>Thu, 04/15/2021 - 13:58</span> <div class="field field--name-field-news-author field--type-string field--label-hidden field-news-author field__item">Nazarene News Staff</div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-popular field--type-boolean field--label-hidden field-news-popular field__item">No</div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field-news-body field__item"><p>Edna Lochner, 96, of Freeport, Illinois, passed away 9 April 2021. She was a retired missionary who served in Eswatini for 38 years. </p> <p>Edna was born on August 18, 1924, in LaOtto, Indiana. She was the sixth child born to the late Ralph and Margaret (Freeman) Lochner.</p> <p>At the age of seven, Edna accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. After missionaries from Africa visited Edna’s church, in the second grade she told a lady that she was going to be a missionary. The lady responded “Oh, Edna! The lions will eat you up!”</p> <p>Edna’s faith was her foundation, and she would not be shaken by these words. Even as a young adolescent, Edna knew she needed to go to college in order to be a missionary. Working in the school office and in the onion fields while still in high school, Edna saved her money so she could attend Olivet Nazarene College (now University). During her senior year, Edna became sick with scarlet fever, and she was required to be in bed for many hours. Her illness was a setback, but it did not keep her from her goal to be a missionary to Africa. </p> <p>After Olivet, Edna taught elementary school for three years. While teaching full time, Edna also attended Ball State College, earning a master’s degree in administration in education. The International Church of the Nazarene Literature Department offered Edna a job working in their editorial section.</p> <p>In 1952, Edna was turned down from going to Africa. Edna sought the Lord even more, and she says “the next six months were lived close to Jesus. He did not show me what He would do in the future, but He did show me what I should do day by day.” At the end of six months, Edna was appointed to do missionary work in Eswatini (then Swaziland), Africa.</p> <p>Edna faithfully served as a missionary for 38 years in Eswatini, serving as a teacher, a principal, a school grantee, and a literature director. In her autobiography, she recounts many times when her life was in danger and yet the Lord provided a way out and kept Edna safe. When she retired at the age of 66, Edna learned what nicknames the Swazi people had for her: Mentakahle, “one who does right,” Maphikelela, “one who holds and does not give up,” Umuntu Wabantu, “one who is a person of the people (one of them).”</p> <p>In 1990, Edna retired to Fort Wayne, Indiana. Even in retirement, she continued to passionately provide Christian literature for Africa. In February 1991, with the help of her family, Edna founded Christian Literature for Africa Association (CLAA). Through many tests and trials, CLAA broke ground on its own building in 2004. The report was submitted by District Superintendent Kevin Campbell-White.</i></p> <p>In a year full of number crunching around the world, the numbers tell a story for the Church of the Nazarene in Cambodia. After completing our annual report, we rejoice in the opportunity to see what God is doing in and through His church. </p> <p>The Cambodia District has 61 Nazarene churches, most of which are small house churches that are not yet even organized and none of which have an ordained pastor yet. But in 2020, we saw 211 people commit their lives to Christ!</p> <p>Like many other countries, Cambodia has been locked down for over a year, unable to gather in groups of more than 20. It is a place where the church has no online presence because “online” is not something that is available in most of the villages where we have churches. But in 2020, 291 people joined the Nazarene church, an almost 13 percent increase over the past year, bringing total membership to 2,264<b>.</b></p> <p>Cambodia has 50 district-licensed pastors and 11 locally-licensed pastors, and most have no building other than their house in which to meet. Even then, we witnessed the baptizing of 449 people who desire to follow Christ’s example.</p> <p>The Cambodia District does not own any property and has to rent facilities and rooms in order to meet together for training and discipleship. Nonetheless, we have witnessed 25 new works being started in 2020! </p> <p>In 2020, over 700 families in Cambodia have received aid from Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, twice, because of severe drought that brought further poverty and economic depression in the midst of a global pandemic. Despite the circumstances, every church gave 25 percent of its income to support the work of the church. </p> <p>Sure, things have been difficult; Jesus told us they would be. Still, He also told us that He has overcome the world (John 16:33).</p> <p>--<a href="asiapacificnazarene.org" target="_blank">Church of the Nazarene Asia-Pacific</a></p> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-publish-date field--type-datetime field--label-hidden field-news-publish-date field__item"><time datetime="2021-04-14T12:00:00Z">14 Apr, 2021</time> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-comments field--type-facebook-comments field--label-hidden field-news-comments field__item"><div id="fb-root"></div> <script>(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) {return;} js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, "script", "facebook-jssdk"));</script> <div class="fb-comments fb-comments-fluid" data-href="https://nazarene.org/rss.xml" data-num-posts="15" data-width="620" data-colorscheme="light"></div></div> <div class="field field--name-field-editor-pick field--type-boolean field--label-above field-editor-pick"> <div class="field__label">Editor Pick</div> <div class="field__item">On</div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-media field--type-entity-reference field--label-hidden field-news-media field__item"><article> <div class="blazy field field--name-field-media-image field--type-image field--label-visually_hidden field-media-image" data-blazy=""> <div class="field__label visually-hidden">Image</div> <div class="field__item"> <div style="padding-bottom: 53.33%" class="media media--blazy media--loading media--ratio media--ratio--fluid media--image"> <img height="400" width="750" class="b-lazy media__image media__element" data-src="/sites/default/files/styles/original_image/public/2021-04/Cambodia.jpg?itok=ZHcQM90U" alt="Cambodia 2020" src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" typeof="foaf:Image" /> </div> </div> </div> </article> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-tags field--type-entity-reference field--label-above field-news-tags"> <div class="field__label">Tags</div> <div class="field__items"> <div class="field__item"><a href="/all-news?keywords=&amp;tag%5B0%5D=67&amp;tag%5B1%5D=67&amp;sort_by=created">Asia-Pacific Region</a></div> <div class="field__item"><a href="/all-news?keywords=&amp;tag%5B0%5D=401&amp;tag%5B1%5D=401&amp;sort_by=created">Cambodia</a></div> </div> </div> Wed, 14 Apr 2021 18:26:51 +0000 dlsperry94 5608 at https://nazarene.org In Memoriam: 16 April 2021 https://nazarene.org/article/memoriam-16-april-2021 <h2>In Memoriam: 16 April 2021</h2> <span><span lang="" about="/user/181" typeof="schema:Person" property="schema:name" datatype="">dlsperry94</span></span> <span>Tue, 04/13/2021 - 19:42</span> <div class="field field--name-field-news-author field--type-string field--label-hidden field-news-author field__item">Nazarene News Staff</div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-popular field--type-boolean field--label-hidden field-news-popular field__item">No</div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field-news-body field__item"><p>The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who recently went home to be with the Lord. He graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Arts in biblical literature, a Master of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary, an advanced graduate certificate in Wesleyan Pastoral Theology from NTS, a Doctor of Divinity Degree from ONU, and is projected to complete his Doctor of Ministry Degree at Fuller Theological Seminary this spring. He has served as an itinerant evangelist and as associate pastor in three Illinois churches (Rock Island, Chicago First, and Pekin). He was senior pastor in Bloomington, Illinois, and in Richardson, Texas. He has served as district superintendent since 2012.</p> <p>“I am pleased with the election of Dr. Scott Sherwood as the next president of Nazarene Bible College,” Graves said. “He has served the Church in many capacities and will bring strong and effective leadership to this new assignment. I believe the training of God’s ‘called ones’ will be in capable hands with Dr. Sherwood leading NBC.”</p> <p>Scott Sherwood is married to Sherry (Fortado). The attending health professionals were encouraged to actively participate in educating their congregations on important health issues.</p> <p>The trainings were developed by Dr. René Rivas, NCM coordinator of the Guatemala Central District, along with other doctors in the area such as Dr. Georgina Rivas from El Salvador, Dr. Vladimir Mayes from Honduras, and special guests from Mexico.</p> <p>“I thank God because He allows me to use my profession to develop a ministry of service to people with different needs but especially with health problems,” Dr. Rivas said. </p> <p>He also expressed his gratitude for the chance to share his knowledge with the NCM coordinators so that they can better serve their communities.</p> <p>The topics of the training were: The church and health care, How to organize medical brigades, Brigade logistics and response in times of pandemic, Malnutrition, and health issues, and Why is the care and care of domestic and foster animals important? </p> <p>Damaris Kellogg, the field NCM coordinator, said discussing animal care intrigued the participants since it is not a very common topic. </p> <p>“Many of our members have breeding animals to sell, from which they obtain resources to live,” Kellogg said. “Taking good care of these animals will give them a better return on their investment.”</p> <p>Attendees were excited about the information they had been equipped with and look forward to sharing and implementing what they learned.</p> <p>“We have been trained so that we can continue to share the message of hope in an integral way,” said Rexcenbrik Aguilar, a pastor and coordinator of NCM in Honduras. “[They] have provided us with valuable resources full of experience and ideas, as well as powerful advice and testimony. We feel challenged to share these strategies to our church so that they too can be part of this work of compassion and bring hope in the midst of despair in a society where every day there are fewer opportunities to enjoy and receive medical care.”<br /> --<a href="mesoamericaregion.org" target="_blank">Church of the Nazarene Mesoamerica</a></p> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-publish-date field--type-datetime field--label-hidden field-news-publish-date field__item"><time datetime="2021-04-09T12:00:00Z">09 Apr, 2021</time> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-comments field--type-facebook-comments field--label-hidden field-news-comments field__item"><div id="fb-root"></div> <script>(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) {return;} js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, "script", "facebook-jssdk"));</script> <div class="fb-comments fb-comments-fluid" data-href="https://nazarene.org/rss.xml" data-num-posts="15" data-width="620" data-colorscheme="light"></div></div> <div class="field field--name-field-editor-pick field--type-boolean field--label-above field-editor-pick"> <div class="field__label">Editor Pick</div> <div class="field__item">On</div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-news-media field--type-entity-reference field--label-hidden field-news-media field__item"><article> <div class="blazy field field--name-field-media-image field--type-image field--label-visually_hidden field-media-image" data-blazy=""> <div class="field__label visually-hidden">Image</div> <div class="field__item"> <div style="padding-bottom: 53.33%" class="media media--blazy media--loading media--ratio media--ratio--fluid media--image"> <img height="400" width="750" class="b-lazy media__image media__element" data-src="/sites/default/files/styles/original_image/public/2021-04/Meso%20NCM%20training.png?itok=YvMJhm6-" alt="Meso NCM Health Training" src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" typeof="foaf:Image" /> </div> </div> </div> </article> </div> Fri, 09 Apr 2021 15:13:57 +0000 dlsperry94 5596 at https://nazarene.org
