Eleanor Drinkwater, 96, de Leesburg, Fl\u00f3rida, faleceu 30 de junho de 2021. Ela era uma mission\u00e1ria por 21 anos, servindo em Swazil\u00e2ndia (Eswatini) e Malawi ao lado de seu marido, J. Edward Drinkwater. <\/p>\n

Nascida 3 de agosto de 1924, Eleanor Adelaide Youmans cresceu em cuidado adotivo de 8 anos de idade at\u00e9 o ensino m\u00e9dio, quando ela se mudou de volta para sua casa com seu pai e madrasta. Depois de se formar no ensino m\u00e9dio, ela trabalhou em um restaurante onde ela conheceu Edward Drinkwater, que na \u00e9poca estava na Marinha dos EUA. Eles eram casados em 1943.<\/p>\n

Eleanor se tornou um crist\u00e3o em uma reuni\u00e3o de reavivamento em mar\u00e7o de 1950. Edward se tornou um crist\u00e3o em 1951 e sentiu o chamado para pregar. Embora ambos “retrocederam”, eles retornaram \u00e0 igreja em 1959 e se juntaram \u00e0 igreja Nazarena. Edward retornou \u00e0 escola para cumprir seu chamado para ser um ministro.<\/p>\n

Eles foram enviados para Swazil\u00e2ndia (agora Eswatini) em 1965, onde Edward era o engenheiro de manuten\u00e7\u00e3o para o Raleigh Fitkin Memorial Hospital. Em 1967, eles se mudaram para Malawi onde eles terminaram seu servi\u00e7o de 21 anos totais como mission\u00e1rios. Eles eram favoritos  as crian\u00e7as mission\u00e1rias, que as chamaram de “av\u00f4 e av\u00f3” em vez do habitual “tio e tia”. <\/p>\n

Eleanor foi precedida em morte por seu marido, J. Edward Drinkwater, que faleceu em 1986.<\/p>\n
