Durante a 30\u00aa Assembleia Geral e Conven\u00e7\u00f5es da Igreja do Nazareno, seis resolu\u00e7\u00f5es foram adotadas reconhecendo v\u00e1rios locais como marcos hist\u00f3ricos de acordo com o par\u00e1grafo 913 do Manual. Este artigo \u00e9 o terceiro artigo em uma s\u00e9rie destacando o significado desses seis novos marcos hist\u00f3ricos da Igreja do Nazareno.<\/em><\/p>\n

Em 15 de junho de 2023, Camp Garner Creek foi designado como um marco hist\u00f3rico da Igreja do Nazareno depois da ado\u00e7\u00e3o da Resolu\u00e7\u00e3o Especial 755 durante a sess\u00e3o de neg\u00f3cios de quinta-feira de manh\u00e3 da  30\u00aa Assembleia Geral e Conven\u00e7\u00f5es.
\nLocalizado em Dickson, Tennessee, EUA, Camp Garner Creek foi designado como um site hist\u00f3rico pelo Distrito MidSouth durante sua Assembleia de Distrito 2022, um pr\u00e9-requisito para se tornar um marco hist\u00f3rico. <\/p>\n

Camp Garner Creek foi fundado em 1972 com seus primeiros servi\u00e7os oferecidos em 1974. Reuni\u00f5es de Acampamento desempenharam um papel vital na hist\u00f3ria da Igreja do Nazareno, e o acampamento familiar anual de Camp Garner Creek \u00e9 uma maneira na qual essa tradi\u00e7\u00e3o continua. <\/p>\n

A adi\u00e7\u00e3o de Camp Garner Creek ao registro Nazareno de sites hist\u00f3ricos preservar\u00e1 sua hist\u00f3ria e substanciar\u00e1 seu lugar na longa e distinta hist\u00f3ria de reuni\u00f5es de acampamento de santidade em Tennessee liderada por nossos antepassados Pr\u00e9-Nazarenos como J.O. McClurkan e John T. Benson, Sr. e as reuni\u00f5es de acampamento de Santidade realizadas em toda a hist\u00f3ria do Distrito de Tennessee desde 1912, muitos em Ruskin Cave perto do site de Camp Garner Creek.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Superintendente Geral Em\u00e9rito Talmadge Johnson liderou o acampamento enquanto serviu como superintendente do Distrito de Tennessee (agora MidSouth), e o maior edif\u00edcio residencial nos campos de acampamento \u00e9 nomeado depois dele.
\nA lista de Nazarenos influentes que falaram e apresentaram l\u00e1 ao longo dos anos incluem superintendentes gerais emeriti Nina Gunter e William Greathouse, Edward Lawlor, Stephen Neese e atual Superintendente Geral David Busic.<\/p>\n

Harvey Hendershot, Robert Mitchell e George Pitzer ajudaram a encontrar Camp Garner Creek, junto com leigos Leon Guill e Bruce Oldham da Igreja Gallatin do Nazareno em Tennessee, quando eles caminharam os terrenos juntos e sentiram que Deus os liderou para a localiza\u00e7\u00e3o do acampamento.
\nSeu trabalho, sacrif\u00edcio e servi\u00e7o junto com tantos outros pastores e leigos nesses primeiros anos estabeleceram uma funda\u00e7\u00e3o espiritual para o distrito e seu minist\u00e9rio para muitos que ainda \u00e9 aben\u00e7oado por Deus”, a resolu\u00e7\u00e3o l\u00ea.<\/p>\n

Hendershot, Mitchell e Pitzer todos t\u00eam edif\u00edcios ou estradas nomeadas depois deles nos acampamentos.
