George Miller, 72, de Carnegie, Oklahoma, faleceu 28 de maio de 2023. Ele era um mission\u00e1rio aposentado que serviu por 27 anos em Papua Nova Guin\u00e9, as Ilhas Salom\u00e3o e as Filipinas. Miller era o pastor de Carnegie do Nazareno no momento de sua morte, tendo pastor a igreja desde 2020.<\/p>\n

George Manley Miller nasceu para Clyde e Violet Miller em 10 de outubro de 1950 em El Reno, Oklahoma. George cresceu em uma pequena igreja de pa\u00eds e deu sua vida ao Senhor como um jovem menino. Como uma crian\u00e7a, ele sentiu que Deus o chamou para servir como um mission\u00e1rio. Ele sempre amou servi\u00e7os mission\u00e1rios e se sentiu “saudades de casa” quando ele ouviu mission\u00e1rios falar. <\/p>\n

George participou de Bethany Nazarene College (agora Universidade Nazarena do Sul), onde ele recebeu um grau em biologia. Em BNC, ele conheceu e se casou com Nancy Sides, que tamb\u00e9m se sentiu chamado para miss\u00f5es como uma crian\u00e7a jovem. Nos primeiros anos de seu casamento, George se formou na faculdade, eles tinham dois filhos, e eles se mudaram duas vezes, finalmente se estabelecendo em Carnegie, Oklahoma, onde George trabalhou como um laborat\u00f3rio e t\u00e9cnico de raios-x no hospital. <\/p>\n

Ele estava ativamente envolvido na Igreja Carnegie do Nazareno e na organiza\u00e7\u00e3o Gideon. Durante seus primeiros anos em Carnegie, o aplicativo de George e Nancy para o Departamento de Miss\u00e3o Mundial n\u00e3o foi aceito. George sempre disse, “\u00c9ramos rejeitos mission\u00e1rios”. <\/p>\n

Ele continuou a tentar encher seu anseio para o campo de miss\u00e3o servindo sua igreja local e indo em viagens de miss\u00e3o de curto prazo para a Rep\u00fablica Dominicana e Suazil\u00e2ndia.<\/p>\n

Como um conselheiro em um acampamento de meninos e meninas, George foi santificado completamente. Deus deu a George tr\u00eas tarefas: (lista numerada)<\/p>\n

  3. Ele era para ter certeza de sua casa e assuntos estavam em ordem porque Deus enviaria sua fam\u00edlia para o campo de miss\u00f5es. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Como era o costume de George, ele obedeceu a Deus de todo o cora\u00e7\u00e3o, e Deus era fiel.<\/p>\n

    Deus chamou George e Nancy para Papua Nova Guin\u00e9 em 1989. Eles embalaram sua casa e levaram seus quatro filhos para PNG, onde eles serviram por 10 anos. George trabalhou no hospital, come\u00e7ou uma escola para treinar t\u00e9cnicos de laborat\u00f3rio, e plantou uma igreja na planta\u00e7\u00e3o de caf\u00e9 local.<\/p>\n

    Enquanto em seu segundo furlough de PNG, George terminou o trabalho de curso que ele faltava para ordena\u00e7\u00e3o, e ele foi ordenado como um \u00e9lder na Igreja do Nazareno. A igreja lhe perguntou se ele iria para as Ilhas Salom\u00e3o para ser o superintendente de distrito. George e Nancy amaram fielmente e serviram as pessoas das Ilhas Salom\u00e3o por 15 anos.<\/p>\n

    Durante os \u00faltimos 18 meses de sua carreira mission\u00e1ria, George e Nancy estavam nas Filipinas, onde George serviu como capel\u00e3o em uma escola Nazarena em Baguio. Eles amaram o tempo que eles passaram l\u00e1, e seus amigos filipinos eram t\u00e3o \u00fateis em se importar com Nancy quando ela ficou doente.<\/p>\n

    George se aposentou de sua carreira mission\u00e1ria em 2015 e estava ansioso para passar tempo com seus netos. Ele passou a maioria dos pr\u00f3ximos anos fornecendo cuidado para Nancy como sua sa\u00fade declinou gradualmente, e ela faleceu em 2018.<\/p>\n

    George encontrou amor novamente e se casou com Jeanne Martin em 2019. Sua fam\u00edlia combinada cresceu para oito filhos e 32 netos. George e Jeanne gostaram de viajar, passar tempo com sua fam\u00edlia e jogar jogos. <\/p>\n

    Aposentadoria n\u00e3o durou muito tempo como eles foram convidados a pastor a Igreja Carnegie do Nazareno em 2020. George amava servir como o pastor com Jeanne por seu lado.<\/p>\n

    George foi precedido em morte por seus pais, Clyde e Violet Miller; seu irm\u00e3o, Wesley Miller; sua esposa, Nancy; sua filha beb\u00ea; e sua neta, Natalie. <\/p>\n
