The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who recently went home to be with the Lord. Notices were received 21-25 October 2024.

Carl B. Summer, 88, of Bethany, Oklahoma, passed away 18 October 2024. He was a retired district superintendent and minister, serving in Oklahoma for over 50 years.

Duane David Baty, 69, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away from glioblastoma on 16 October 2024, at home surrounded by his family. He was a retired missionary and minister who served in the Philippines and Cambodia for 25 years.

Hurricane John struck the southern coast of Mexico on September 23 as a Category 3 storm. The Church of the Nazarene in Acapulco and Ciudad Altamirano mobilized to respond to the crisis through NCM.

At the heart of Hanau, Germany, the Church of the Nazarene has become a vital source of support for the local community through its hospitality ministry. Offering a range of essential services the church has provided for those in need while fostering a sense of belonging and spiritual growth.

The Southeast Asia Field hosted its first-ever local missionary conference at City Golf Resort. The three-day conference was attended by 22 leaders from different areas of Myanmar, including the war-torn regions.

Through the generosity of Nazarenes around the world, the Church of the Nazarene is able to share Christ’s transformational love. Resources are now available for the upcoming Offering of Thanks for Nazarene Missions

James Frederick Huff, 74, of McDonough, Georgia, passed away on 10 October 2024. He served the Church of the Nazarene in various roles for over 40 years, including as the director of the Africa Region, a missionary in New Zealand and South Africa, and superintendent of the Georgia and New Mexico

Two new field strategy coordinators have been appointed in Brazil: Damásio Morais for the Brazil North Field and Severino José Quirino for the Brazil Central Field.

The Australia Southern District youth gathered for three nights at Oasis Christian Camp in Melbourne. Young people from the Australia North & West District also made the long trip down from Brisbane.
