The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world and all who live in it. Psalm 24:1

God’s Word teaches us that God owns everything under the stars. He, in turn, allows each one of us to manage a portion of His creation to care and nurture for His glory.

As believers, everything we own is a gift from God, and our very existence depends on Him.

…Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything. Genesis 14:20

Storehouse tithing (tithe = 1/10) has been one of the cornerstones of the Christian faith for centuries. Tithe is an act of worship and thanksgiving. During many Old Testament sacrifices and festivals, the Hebrew people brought the first fruits of their labors to the Tabernacle and later to the Temple.

In the New Testament, Jesus instructs believers to give generously to the work of the Church and to those in need. The Apostle Paul also encouraged churches to give.

Since you excel in so many ways—in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us—I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving. 2 Corinthians 8:7 NLT

For over a century, faithful Nazarenes have brought their tithe into the storehouse each Sunday. Scripture challenges believers to put God to the test and give 10% of their first fruits for His work plus other special offerings when needed.

To read more about what Nazarenes believe about storehouse tithing, see article 32.1 in the Church of the Nazarene Manual

Your local church shares a portion of your tithe with the global Nazarene family in six regions around the globe for World Evangelism. This gift helps to support missionaries, deliver compassionate relief, and build a network that trains pastors and missionaries called to deliver God’s love to a hurting and dying world.

Thank you for your faithful tithe and for being a Christlike disciple in the nations.
