 Universit\u00e9 Point Loma nazar\u00e9enne<\/a> a consacr\u00e9 la nouvelle chapelle de pri\u00e8re Lyle et Grace Prescott le 1 mai. La chapelle est une nouvelle it\u00e9ration d’ astructure qui se tient en tant que symbole de valeurs universitaires et le r\u00f4le important que joue la pri\u00e8re dans le cadre acad\u00e9mique de PLNU.<\/p>\n

Des actes cr\u00e9atifs \u00e0 la beaut\u00e9 constructive … cela est vraiment une sculpture \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Bob Brower, pr\u00e9sident PLNU. Ce jour, nous c\u00e9l\u00e9brons la fid\u00e9lit\u00e9 de Dieu. Des moments o\u00f9 il a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 travailler dans la vie de ceux qui ont pri\u00e9 que nous pourrions  exister maintenant tous de nous qui prient sur le pr\u00e9sent et l’avenir et tout ce que Dieu fera. \u00ab\u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

Envisag\u00e9 par les \u00e9tudiants du Coll\u00e8ge Pasadena Ron Benefiel, Gene Schandorff, Dan Royer et Steve Reese, la chapelle de pri\u00e8re Prescott originale a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9di\u00e9e en 1972 en l’honneur des  anciens Lyle et Grace Prescott. En tant que missionnaires dans l’\u00c9glise du Nazar\u00e9en, Lyle et Grace ont consacr\u00e9 leur vie au service \u00e0 Dieu et aux autres. En outre, ils croyaient profond\u00e9ment au pouvoir de la pri\u00e8re dans leur vie et leur travail. Leur fils, Bob Prescott et plus de 50 membres de la famille Prescott ont rejoint pr\u00e8s de 400 invit\u00e9s \u00e0 la c\u00e9l\u00e9bration de d\u00e9dicace.  <\/p>\n

Lorsque l’universit\u00e9 a relocalis\u00e9 aux falaises de Point Loma en 1973, la chapelle de pri\u00e8re Prescott \u00e9tait le seul b\u00e2timent a d\u00e9m\u00e9nag\u00e9 de Pasadena \u00e0 San Diego. L’environnement c\u00f4tier et l’infestation de termites n\u00e9cessitaient une nouvelle structure et les plans pour la nouvelle chapelle ont commenc\u00e9 en 2015.<\/p>\n

C’\u00e9tait le d\u00e9sir de la famille Prescott, du leadership PLNU, des \u00e9tudiants et Carrier Johnson d’inspirer,  en interne et en externe, une connexion de pri\u00e8re avec la Sainte Trinit\u00e9 – le P\u00e8re, le Fils et le Saint-Esprit.<\/p>\n

La conception de chapelle de pri\u00e8re pour PLNU a \u00e9volu\u00e9 de deux inspirations : son cadre naturel s\u00e9r\u00e9ment et l’signification spirituelle de l’ambiance de pri\u00e8re \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 l’architecte Gordon Carrier de Carrier Johnson + CULTURE. Bien que petit en empreinte, l’espace offre une exp\u00e9rience proportionnelle au pouvoir de la pri\u00e8re. \u00ab\u00a0<\/p>\n

La chapelle en b\u00e9ton vers\u00e9e dans l’endroit est remplie de lumi\u00e8re naturelle et abrite trois niches de pri\u00e8re personnelles, chacune s\u00e9par\u00e9e avec des d\u00e9flecteurs en bois offrant de la confidentialit\u00e9 tout en se concentrant sur une croix de 12 pieds de haut plac\u00e9e dans l’espace m\u00e9dian. Le pouvoir de trois est \u00e9galement \u00e9voqu\u00e9 dans l’ext\u00e9rieur de la structure. Entour\u00e9 d’un jardin de pri\u00e8re, compos\u00e9 de trois niches de pri\u00e8re individuelles d\u00e9finies par des haies soigneusement sculpt\u00e9es, chaque niche est en outre am\u00e9lior\u00e9e par des panneaux de verre teint\u00e9 libres, traduisant la lumi\u00e8re du soleil en couleur, qui ont toutes \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9es de la chapelle originale.<\/p>\n

La conception, la construction  et l’ach\u00e8vement de la chapelle Prescott Prayer ont \u00e9t\u00e9 rendus possibles par  la g\u00e9n\u00e9rosit\u00e9  des donateurs, le travail cr\u00e9atif de Gordon Carrier et de l’\u00e9quipe architecturale Carrier Johnson, ainsi que les efforts de nombreuses entreprises d’ing\u00e9nierie et artisans.<\/p>\n

Selon le pr\u00e9sident Brower, la d\u00e9dicace de la chapelle de pri\u00e8re Lyle et Grace Prescott se tient en \u00ab un t\u00e9moignage \u00e0 la fid\u00e9lit\u00e9 de Dieu, \u00e0 sa pr\u00e9sence parmi nous et son appel \u00e0 chacun de nous \u00e0 devenir les personnes qu’il nous appelle \u00e0 \u00eatre \u00bb.<\/p>\n
