Genell Johnson, femme du surintendant g\u00e9n\u00e9ral \u00e9m\u00e9rite W. Talmadge Johnson, est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 le 24 novembre 2021. <\/p>\n

Genell est dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 de l’\u00e9cole secondaire Sherman (Texas) en 1954. Son p\u00e8re \u00e9tait un pasteur de longue date dans l’\u00c9glise du Nazar\u00e9en et Genell s’est inscrit au coll\u00e8ge nazar\u00e9en \u00e0 Bethany, Oklahoma (maintenant Universit\u00e9 nazar\u00e9enne du sud). Tout en assistant l\u00e0, elle a voyag\u00e9 dans un trio de femmes, chantant dans les \u00c9glises dans Oklahoma et le Texas en particulier. <\/p>\n

Il \u00e9tait \u00e0 Bethany qu’elle a rencontr\u00e9 et a \u00e9pous\u00e9 plus tard Talmadge. Elle \u00e9tait la reine de retour \u00e0 la maison et il \u00e9tait le pr\u00e9sident du corps \u00e9tudiant. Apr\u00e8s l’obtention de son dipl\u00f4me du coll\u00e8ge en 1958, Genell a enseign\u00e9 l’\u00e9cole pendant un an \u00e0 Oklahoma City alors que son mari a embarqu\u00e9 dans un voyage en tant qu’\u00e9vang\u00e9liste itinerant.<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s que leur fils Michael soit n\u00e9 en 1960, Genell a suivi Talmadge dans un nouvel appel en tant que pasteur et premi\u00e8re dame de l’\u00c9glise du Nazar\u00e9en \u00e0 Elk City, Oklahoma. Leur fils Jeffrey est n\u00e9 ici en 1963.<\/p>\n

La famille a d\u00e9m\u00e9nag\u00e9 \u00e0 Oklahoma City en tant que pasteur fondateur de l’\u00c9glise de Ch\u00eanes occidentales du Nazar\u00e9en en 1965, servant l\u00e0 pendant presque 10 ans.<\/p>\n

En 1975, lorsque Talmadge a \u00e9t\u00e9 appel\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00eatre le surintendant de district au Mississippi, Genell s’est aim\u00e9 aux gens dans les \u00c9glises de l’\u00c9tat, jouant fr\u00e9quemment l’orgue et fournissant de la musique sp\u00e9ciale dans les \u00c9glises qu’ils ont visit\u00e9es. <\/p>\n

Cinq ans plus tard, les Johnsons ont d\u00e9m\u00e9nag\u00e9 \u00e0 Nashville lorsque Talmadge est devenu surintendant du district du Tennessee. Ils ont servi l\u00e0 pendant les 14 prochaines ann\u00e9es et dans le comt\u00e9 de Dickson, la famille a investi dans le Camp Garner Creek – le camp nazar\u00e9en et centre de retraite.<\/p>\n

En 1994, Genell a suivi Talmadge dans la r\u00e9gion de Kansas City \u00e0 son nouvel appel en tant que directeur des minist\u00e8res de l’\u00e9cole du dimanche pour les sept prochaines ann\u00e9es. Il a ensuite \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9lu surintendant g\u00e9n\u00e9ral en 2001, o\u00f9 il a servi pendant quatre ans avant de prendre sa retraite (officiellement) en 2005. <\/p>\n

Ces affectations ont permis \u00e0 Genell de combiner ses nombreuses ann\u00e9es de travail avec les Missions nazar\u00e9ennes internationales, de profiter de son minist\u00e8re et de voyager dans le monde entier. <\/p>\n

Selon sa famille, le don de Genell pour l’hospitalit\u00e9 \u00e9tait l\u00e9gendaire. Ses comp\u00e9tences culinaires \u00e9taient significatives. Sa musicalit\u00e9 \u00e9tait \u00e0 la fois inn\u00e9e et cathartique pour elle et une b\u00e9n\u00e9diction merveilleuse pour tous ceux qui l’ont entendu. Et son sens du style a combin\u00e9 juste le bon m\u00e9lange de go\u00fbt et sass. Au-del\u00e0 de la d\u00e9votion de Genell \u00e0 Dieu, elle est souvenue pour son sens profond d’hospitalit\u00e9 et d’amour pour les gens.<\/p>\n

Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9e dans la mort par ses parents, John Thomas (J.T.) et Margaret Faye (Sheid) Crawford et belle-m\u00e8re, Helen (Wooten) Dawson Crawford. Elle est surv\u00e9cue par le mari, W.
