Au cours de la 30e Assembl\u00e9e g\u00e9n\u00e9rale et des conventions de l’\u00c9glise du Nazar\u00e9en, six r\u00e9solutions ont \u00e9t\u00e9 adopt\u00e9es reconnaissant divers endroits en tant que points de rep\u00e8re historiques conform\u00e9ment au paragraphe 913 du Manuel. Cet article est le troisi\u00e8me article dans une s\u00e9rie soulignant l’importance de ces six nouveaux points de rep\u00e8re historiques de l’\u00c9glise du Nazar\u00e9en.<\/em><\/p>\n

Le 15 juin 2023, le Camp Garner Creek a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9sign\u00e9 comme point de rep\u00e8re historique de l’\u00c9glise du Nazar\u00e9en apr\u00e8s l’adoption de la r\u00e9solution sp\u00e9ciale 755 pendant la session d’affaires de jeudi matin de la  30e Assembl\u00e9e g\u00e9n\u00e9rale et des conventions.
\nSitu\u00e9 \u00e0 Dickson, Tennessee, \u00c9tats-Unis, Camp Garner Creek a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9sign\u00e9 comme site historique par le district MidSouth pendant leur assembl\u00e9e de district 2022, une condition pr\u00e9alable pour devenir un point de rep\u00e8re historique. <\/p>\n

Le Camp Garner Creek a \u00e9t\u00e9 fond\u00e9 en 1972 avec ses premiers services offerts en 1974. Les r\u00e9unions de camp ont jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le vital dans l’histoire de l’\u00c9glise du Nazar\u00e9en et le camp familial annuel du Camp Garner Creek est une fa\u00e7on dans laquelle cette tradition continue. <\/p>\n

L’ajout du Camp Garner Creek au registre nazar\u00e9en des sites historiques pr\u00e9servera son histoire et justifiera sa place dans l’histoire longue et distingu\u00e9e des r\u00e9unions de camp de saintet\u00e9 au Tennessee dirig\u00e9es par nos anc\u00eatres pr\u00e9-nazar\u00e9ens tels que J.O. McClurkan et John T. Benson, Sr. et les r\u00e9unions de camp de saintet\u00e9 tenues tout au long de l’histoire du district du Tennessee depuis 1912, beaucoup \u00e0 Ruskin Cave pr\u00e8s du site du Camp Garner Creek.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Le surintendant g\u00e9n\u00e9ral \u00e9m\u00e9rite Talmadge Johnson a dirig\u00e9 le camp tout en servant de surintendant du district du Tennessee (maintenant MidSouth) et le plus grand b\u00e2timent r\u00e9sidentiel sur les terrains de camping est nomm\u00e9 apr\u00e8s lui.
\nLa liste des Nazar\u00e9ens influents qui ont parl\u00e9 et pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s l\u00e0 au cours des ans comprennent les surintendants g\u00e9n\u00e9raux \u00e9m\u00e9rites Nina Gunter et William Greathouse, Edward Lawlor, Stephen Neese et le surintendant g\u00e9n\u00e9ral actuel David Busic.<\/p>\n

Harvey Hendershot, Robert Mitchell et George Pitzer ont aid\u00e9 \u00e0 trouver le Camp Garner Creek, avec les la\u00efcs Leon Guill et Bruce Oldham de l’\u00c9glise Gallatin du Nazar\u00e9en au Tennessee, lorsqu’ils ont march\u00e9 sur le terrain ensemble et ont senti Dieu les conduisant \u00e0 l’emplacement du camp.

Hendershot, Mitchell et Pitzer ont tous des b\u00e2timents ou des routes nomm\u00e9es apr\u00e8s eux dans les terrains de camping.
