A vibrant new church was planted in the heart of Chonburi, Thailand, after years of faithful ministry, intentional discipleship, and leadership development among the Myanmar diaspora in Thailand. Shalom Church, officially launched this year, is a powerful testimony to the fruit of grassroots evangelism and local leadership multiplication.<\/p>\n\n

This journey began seven years ago with the planting of Bangchalong Church, a congregation led by Pastors Bill and Mill Kwon, two devoted church planters deeply committed to serving others. They believed that the strength of a church lies in empowering local leaders.<\/p>\n\n

Among those they mentored was Khun Jar, a woman whose life became a powerful testament to their vision. Through years of nurturing and discipleship, Khun Jar developed a passion for ministry and the skills needed to lead, eventually becoming the lead pastor of Bangchalong Church of the Nazarene. As the organic movement grew, Bill and Mill also introduced the Course of Study to equip believers for discipleship and ministry. Several members responded wholeheartedly to God\u2019s call, pursuing training with deep commitment and purpose. Among them was Pastor Dee Dee, a passionate disciple who felt led to reach the Chonburi area with the gospel.<\/p>\n\n

With the blessing and support of Bangchalong Church and Pastor Khun Jar, Pastor Dee Dee began the outreach ministry in Chonburi. He faithfully served the community for two years\u2014building relationships, teaching the Word, and discipling new believers. These efforts culminated in the launch of Shalom Church. This growing congregation now shines as a beacon of hope and faith in the community.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cThis is exactly what we are called to do\u2014make disciples, multiply leaders, and plant churches that plant other churches,\u201d said Bill Kwon, now the Southeast Asia Field Strategy Coordinator.<\/p>\n\n

The story of Shalom Church exemplifies a broader movement across Southeast Asia\u2014one powered by grassroots efforts, local empowerment, and intentional discipleship.
