Timothy L. Smith<\/a>, el \u00abdecano de la historia de la Iglesia Nazarena\u00bb, marc\u00f3 el inicio de una nueva era en la interpretaci\u00f3n hist\u00f3rica con sus dos obras cl\u00e1sicas: *Avivamiento y Reforma Social en los Estados Unidos* (1957) y *Llamados a Santidad* (1962). Esta \u00faltima fue la obra m\u00e1s erudita sobre la historia nazarena publicada hasta ese momento.
